Nearly 10,000 in attendance at Pres. Trump's Johnson City rally

Officials tell us nearly 10,000 people attended President Donald Trump's Make America Great Again rally.

According to Lisa Chamness of Freedom Hall, between 6300 and 6500 people were allowed inside Freedom hall during the rally last night.
That isn't 92,000. lol

Trump rally live blog: Trump speaks at Johnson City event to capacity crowd

The crowd of would-be rally-goers topped the center’s capacity of a little more than 8,000 people. Many people had to be turned away from the rally scheduled to start at 7 p.m. But thousands remained outside the building to watch the president's speech via live-streamed video on a Jumbotron screen. Trump put the number of people outside at about 20,000.
The capacity of the facility was only 8000.

92,000 tickets were requested to attend the event. That is 11 and a half times more than the actual capacity of the venue. Quite a demand in my opinion.

That would completely fill most NFL\college stadiums to standing room only. Perhaps he should have had it at Neyland Stadium that can hold 102K and lived like a rock-star to a sell out crowd.

lol.

Don't know who made the requests. It could have been groups who ordered in great quantities who knew they wouldn't get them or that they were not available....or tied to the Trump campaign as a gimmick.

Wouldn't be the first time -- Donald's people tend to get the tickets (and then some) from the venue and then distribute them to the faithful themselves...

Registration for Trump's rally causing confusion

n January 2016, Trump's campaign issued nearly 20,000 free tickets for a rally at the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts in Burlington, Vt., a venue that holds only 1,400 people, the Washington Post reported at the time.

Although tickets don't reserve a spot at the rally, and tickets to Trump's April 2016 rally in Superior were not even checked at the door, attendees still need to register at donaldjtrump.com before they enter, DECC executive director Chelly Townsend said.

I'll admit that there are plenty of people who love to show up and listen to Trump talk about how great he is, but is there any source for the 92,000 ticket claim? Other than a Trump bot on Vimeo?

Even so, Dems have a long way to go to get back to where they were before Election Day in 2010. They lost something like 1,000 seats across the nation starting around then. Even if they recapture the House and (somehow) the Senate in a few weeks from now, that won't make them what they used to be.

The "red wave" in 2010 wasn't the result of any sort of mass shift in political sensibilities, with folks suddenly growing affinity for Republicans. The Democrats just got (badly) outflanked. They were (as they'd always been) focused on the national races when Republicans realized that it was much more cost effective to sink money into local races that would 1.) win them local control and 2.) win them control over the redistricting process that would then help them solidify national control.

#845: REDMAP

While the Democrats have a lot of ground to make up, one would hope that they've learned their lesson.

Just to clarify,@AkidoMaster, you are using pictures from the media to show stuff the media isn't taking pictures of (ignoring).

That's definitely my Monday morning cup of irony. Thanks!

Since when does anyone need evidence? I read it in a yearbook from 1852.

His base won in 2016

His base has won 8 special elections

Wow. 9 whole elections. Too bad they didn't show up in, say, Alabama.

His base is supporting how many who are gaining in the polls?

Which polls are those? The ones showing generic democratic candidates winning in landslides? The ones showing democrats retaking the house? Do tell.

Actually, the photos are from the Whitehouse site, not the media.

Want a donut with your irony?
