His base has never been enough to win elections, though, so who cares?

His base won in 2016

His base has won 8 special elections

His base is supporting how many who are gaining in the polls?

His base is who cares

According to who?

Be careful the grammar gestapo will come after you.

If you meant according to whom, that would be the city In Tennessee where the event was held.

You now have the cherished ability to research.

Why is it Trump supporters can't seem to get over the last few elections? If they're not complaining about Clinton it is about how many elections people lost a decade ago. What is it about the people they currently elected that makes them want to talk about things from the past?
It's because our current political situation didn't come out of nowhere. There was a time not even all that long ago when things were very different.

I would ask why so few people ever look to distant history and recent history as part of analyzing current events.

Why would this be newsworthy?

This is a self evident grassroots poll of sorts that measures the actual support of the President in attendance of rallies. Tens of thousands of people attending every single event, in each state he goes to would be a band icons dream. Trumps popularity is way underestimated.

"Grassroots"? Initiated by the POTUS himself?

"ordinary people regarded as the main body of an organization's membership." I believe that would describe Trump supporters.

Who come out in droves to praise him whenever he asks for it.

Again, how is this newsworthy?

Reviewing history is a good thing. They even teach it in school.

2018 march is discussed here:
Women’s March 2018: Protesters Take to the Streets for the Second Straight Year

• More than 200,000 protesters attended the march in New York on Saturday, according to Mayor Bill de Blasio. Mayor Eric Garcetti of Los Angeles said 600,000 attended the march there, while organizers of the Chicago march said 300,000 attended that event. Thousands also turned out in Washington, Philadelphia, Austin and hundreds of other cities and towns around the country and world.
And what will be happening:
Everything to Know About the 2019 Women’s March on Washington
“Save the date,” reads an announcement on the organization’s website. “The #WomensWave is coming, and we’re sweeping the world forward with us.” Below, here’s what we know so far.

Let’s check shall we:

Wages are stagnant:

Worker pay rate hits highest level since 2008

People are working three jobs.

4.9% hold two.
Respectfully, the worker pay rate is not an indicator of non-stagnant wages. The very article you posted outlines why wages are stagnant. To get a true evaluation of wage increase it must be adjusted for inflation. While Inflation is down to 2.8% compared to 2.9% last year, still wages have not increased to match. By the way 4.9 percent of the workforce holding two jobs is not good for labor side statistics.

And.... what does that have to do in relationship to the topic of the thread, which is the media basically ignoring these turnouts for the President?

What the media is ignoring

Got something from this year?

that is your post asking that. My post was a response.

As to the president's crowd, it was okay. It was smaller than what I thought it would be from the way Trump talks.

Really you expected more than 92,000 at a single campaign event? My Goodness.

When a civil war begins, it will be because the nation has allowed their prejudices, ignorance and blindness to injustices.

Civil war is part of destabilization - which Americans themselves have had an active part in bringing about. In other words, it is the fault of the civilian when civil war begins, and there will already be a solution to this painfully predictable reaction to a problem.

I agree, how do you get them to stop acting like they are insane?

There is only one network that considers crowd sizes at 2020 campaign rallies in deeply Republican areas to important news. I'm sure FOX is counting the crowd and then doubling the number as Trump wants.

For the rest of the media, there is an actual ELECTION in less than a month. In many states, the early voting has already started. Large rallies for Trump in largely Republican districts may or may not translate to votes in the suburbs where House seats are at issue. My guess is that crowd size in MS wan't translate to votes in the Denver suburbs, but I could be wrong.

Some of those strange acting protesters are making the left look pretty silly to the average American.

When the roles were reversed, the right looked pretty silly. Nothing new under the Sun.

It seems that there is more support for Trump than being reported.

Not really -- as of this posting. Donald has a 42.3% approval rating (that's taking into account the Kavanaugh bounce). In a nation of approximately 325 million people, that's 137,475,000 people who approve.

No difficult feat to fill a hall with fans.

America is really divided right down the middle these days. Feels kind of like a Civil War starting up? Hopefully people will start to mellow out here and enjoy this great country.

M-Bob

Agreed -- the progressives are passionate, which is a good thing, but some of them don't know when to quit, which is... not so much.

The left lost this battle -- time to fall back, regroup, and be ready for the next one. One nice thing about Donald is that he probably won't keep them waiting long.

Aren't we all -- Donald's supporters as well as his critics -- "ordinary people"?
