Literal is physical is it not? I can't tell you what it is in the spiritual but God does have one.

Perhaps you should think God is figure of speech because you can't answer that either.

If God's breath is a figure speech then a good part of the Bible is just a figure of speech in your opinion.

Is Jesus a door, a vine? Literally? I dare say he is such (if he is anything), he is such as a figure of speech or a metaphor.

I'd even include the starfish breathe through its skin. Around 1900 species in and out the water that breathe through the skin. Probably afew ways other animals breathe besides having skin or lungs. Sea coral have a cellular respiration.
