Couple of situations:
1- While visiting a church, a person was recognized by the pastor to give a prophetic word. The first sentence was - no need to test this word because what's spoken is truth. The pastor was an acquitance.

2- The guy arrived an hour late to repair the church's AC I just knew he had been with someone and was very proud of what he had done.

Besides praying, what should I have done if anything?

Have you talked with other church members about what you percieved? Or the pastor directly? Usually discernment is for prayer then listen to what the Spirit directs.
