I feel pretty much the same as Dawn does. Sometimes some insecurities will come up, but I love being the age I am. It's like I waited my whole life to come to this point. My 40s have been my best decade yet. I'm looking forward to the 50s being even better.

For me, I'm a little more wiser and happier with my life more then in my 30's. I'm more laid back and relaxed now that I'm in my 40's. One of the draw backs for me is arthritis in getting older, it's not to bad just annoying at times. I tend to stop more, slow down and enjoy my children and grandchildren, to look at life around me, enjoy nature, sunset's, the beauty of dawn. I give out more hugs, let people know I care. Being in my 40's is a wonderful place to be, can't say I'm all that happy about getting more wrinkles and going into my 50's, but looking forward to the journey of getting there. I think the more smiles and laughter you find at any age, makes life that much better.

Every decade is what you make it. Instead of looking at what you lose, look at what you are ready to accomplish. Set your goals.

I care much less about what people thought of me in my 30s, and even less than in my 20s....basically because I have so many more important things to spend my time and energy doing.

My kids are still pretty young, and I think I am sometimes like the "big sister" among their friends moms. And I find many of them are worried about lines in their faces and greying hair. I hope I am giving posetive perspective when I say that I am doing fine with those changes, and consider them to be badges of honor for the things I have done right in life so far....like smile (I have a whole lotta smile lines!). And grey hair is just a free highlighting service God has given us with his paint brushes.

Last, I was terribly sick when I turned 30, and the recovery was slow. I feel fantastic now. So, I'm lovin'40.
