What place does the topic of "Mary" have under the broad topic of theology? What place does a mortal have in the realm of theology? Theology is the study of God, what place does Marilogy heve here?

Well your protestant brethren kept on starting Mariology threads in GT. I guess you can blame it on them.
What happened was they were tired of all the infighting that was taking place over in the General Theology Forum about this subject and the myriads of threads made all the time, so they created a section specifically to deal with it. This way now GT does not get bogged down and littered with threads over the same repetitive subject and so other things may get accomplished there. What place does the topic of "Mary" have under the broad topic of theology? Reps for you Robin! What happened was they were tired of all the infighting that was taking place over in the General Theology Forum about this subject and the myriads of threads made all the time, so they created a section specifically to deal with it. Personally I do not think we should have a need for this section at all because I believe that we should be able to talk about our differences of opinion and beliefs respectfully, however, that has not been the case with this subject.
So they had to devote a whole forum to it and waste precious time and resources of mods superviors and admins to take care of this place because we as Christians could not act like Christians in the first place. That is why you see this section here.

The mystery of the incarnation.
Peace
I notice nobody objected to the hamartiology section -- and "sin" is, on anybody reasonable's standards, much farther removed from God than Mary the mother of Jesus.
I would see that a reasonable topic for the Mariology forum would be, "What role, if any, did or does Mary the mother of Jesus play in the working out of the divine plan of redemption, salvation, and sanctification?"

There is a use for having a section for Mariology, since the same topics were getting brought up time after time on the GT board.
Here at least we can keep one thread going per Mary topic, people can read the whole thing, and we don't have to keep repeating everything quite so much.
That has to do with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, not Mary.
It is also not part of our teachings that Mary is Divine and most threads that went up about Mary were started by Protestants not understanding that we do not see her as Divine either.Yet Mary is not divine so discussing her in a theology area is like speaking of cars in a thrology area.
So I guess Jesus magically appeared here on earth in the form of man with no help whatsoever? And then if it had nothing to do with Mary then why is Mary's role in his birth so prominent to begin with? That has to do with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, not Mary.
