What or who are the Locusts and....when do they/did they arrive?

Revelation 9:1-5 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.

I used to understand this as future but now I see....only part of it, the five months, is future. The development of a locust happens in stages and they have developed through the millennia.

Joel 2:24-26 And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil. And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.

The fifth trump has sounded already for, as shown above, the "fifth angel sounded," and "a star fell from heaven" to release the locusts. Jesus told us....

Luke 10:18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

9:6-9 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them. And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions. And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.

The reference to "in those days" is the time of their five months. But, they are here long before that. They have power as they wear crowns, they are men and they have hair as women, which may mean they are oh so gentle and kind and yet...they rip their prey as lions.

9:10-12 And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months. And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon. One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter.


During the five months at the end of this age they "had a king over them" but until that time....they "have no king yet" (see below)! Please consider that in the following verse....the comma is in the wrong place! Instead of..."they have no king, yet go they forth"....it should be...they have no king yet, go they forth! They "go forth" now and have been for a long, long time. However, their time to shine will be the last five months of this age when Satan is cast to earth. We are shown the locusts have no king as well as had a king. There is a difference in time that must be recognized......

Proverbs 30:27 The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands;

Bands #2683 ~ to hold firmly; the bosom (as comprised between the arms); - bosom

Could "bands" be their "breastplates of iron?" Who is iron associated with? Cain and his offspring, the Kenites and....the "IMAGE"!

When Moses confronted Pharoah (a type of Satan) he said......

Exodus 10:4-6 Else, if thou refuse to let My people go, behold, to morrow will I bring the locusts into thy coast: And they shall cover the face of the earth, that one cannot be able to see the earth: and they shall eat the residue of that which is escaped, which remaineth unto you from the hail, and shall eat every tree which groweth for you out of the field: And they shall fill thy houses, and the houses of all thy servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians; which neither thy fathers, nor thy fathers' fathers have seen, since the day that they were upon the earth unto this day. And he turned himself, and went out from Pharaoh.

10:12-15 And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt, and eat every herb of the land, even all that the hail hath left. And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts. And the locust went up over all the land of Egypt, and rested in all the coasts of Egypt: very grievous were they; before them there were no such locusts as they, neither after them shall be such. For they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened; and they did eat every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left: and there remained not any green thing in the trees, or in the herbs of the field, through all the land of Egypt.

In [Rev.9:1-5 above] we see that when the fifth trumpet sounded the "air was darkened" and the locust came forth upon the earth. To me, it appears the fifth trump sounded long ago, when Moses stretched his rod over Egypt. Was it a type for the event or...was it the event itself? There are "no such locusts as they" because...what were literal locusts then....are not literal locusts today!

10:19 And the LORD turned a mighty strong west wind, which took away the locusts, and cast them into the Red sea; there remained not one locust in all the coasts of Egypt.

They are in the Red Sea today along with Pharoah and his men/chariots/horses....all are symbolic of Satan and his workers in the sea of humanity....

Isaiah 27:1 In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.

The locusts in Satan's army have similar traits to literal locusts....

Deuteronomy 28:38-39 Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather but little in; for the locust shall consume it. Thou shalt plant vineyards, and dress them, but shalt neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them.

28:41-43 Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity. All thy trees and fruit of thy land shall the locust consume. The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.

Psalm 78:46 He gave also their increase unto the caterpiller, and their labour unto the locust.

Isaiah 33:3-5 At the noise of the tumult the people fled; at the lifting up of thyself the nations were scattered. And your spoil shall be gathered like the gathering of the caterpiller: as the running to and fro of locusts shall he run upon them. The LORD is exalted; for He dwelleth on high: He hath filled Zion with judgment and righteousness.

Joel 1:3-4 Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation. Those are the stages of the locust...from a worm working underground, gaining strength, destroying from the roots to the full grown locust that swarms and devours all in it's path. Much of the seed we plant....the Word of the Lord, the worms and locusts consume.

So, who are the locusts that are in the sea? Satan's workers in humanity...all in their various stages of development but devouring no matter what stage they are in.

The three strongest are the leopard/China, the bear/Russia and the lion. Who is the lion? England, America or all Christian nations? Or perhaps this is the fake lion of the tribe of Judah?

You know what I find interesting is the locusts tormenting for "five months" and the coincidence that Elizabeth (mother of John the baptist, who ATE LOCUSTS) was HID for the same time period. Im thinking... "Is there something in that"?

Pharoah called the locusts covering the land "this death" and a Kings wrath is AS messengers OF death and wrath (even as the locusts) darken the land as well.

Another interesting thing is that they are "commanded" to hurt whereas the disciples were told "I GIVE you POWER OVER serpents and scorpions (of which pain they inflict are compared to) and tells them that NOTHING by any means shall HURT YOU .

Just the language I suppose. I have some notes in this as its one of my favorite studies, Im a little rusty as of late but I also noticed the locusts come OUT of the SMOKE and elsewhere it speaks of "A SMOKE" as a PEOPLE (which say, "I am holier then thou") which is interesting that Jesus speaks of MAKING people twice the child of hell as yourselves.

In Job it says the locusts have no King but in Revelation they DO have a King which appears (at first to contradict) but not really if PRIDE comes into play in the very name of that king, "Pride goeth BEFORE destruction" (The interpretation of the Kings name) which confirms Job again speaking of the one who is King OVER the CHILDREN OF **PRIDE** (who beholds every high thing). So theres alot of connections spread throughout scripture that even I seek a better understanding of. I just have verses which "appear to" speak "to" one another confirming (somewhat) they could be connected in some way. I find even the pieces very interesting, sorta spurring you on to discover more in various places.

Maybe we can all post what we have and we can all look over the verses and see if a light doesnt go on for us?

Heres what I was wondering... could the "crowns LIKE gold" pertain (at all) to a certain "mindedness"? Given they had a king over them (of which a king job speaks of) as it pertains to he that beholdeth all HIGH things? I mean we are told to pull down every HIGH THING that exalts itself over the knowledge of Christ right? It speaks of HIGHmindedness, it speaks of a King over all the children of PRIDE, one named Abaddon (whose name by interpretation is "Destroyer and Destruction") which appears to correlate with the same PRIDE which goeth BEFORE Destruction. Paul handed one over to Satan for the destruction of his flesh that his spirit be saved... so they appear to confirm what it might be indicating (as it pertains to the crowns). We are told not to be HIGHminded but SOBERminded and the CROWN of Ephraim was considered "corruptible" Paul speaks to two different crowns (corruptible and incorruptible) as well as our MINDS being corrupted, elsewhere it speaks of being corrupted by thy wisdom somewhere I believe and ofcourse there are two kinds of wisdom as there is what is earthly and devilish and the wisdom which is from above which have two different attributes, one "the MEEKNESS" of wisdom verses the other. A counterfeit of sorts, their crowns were LIKE gold verses the wisdom which is from above is first PURE (pure gold). These words also appear to play into the words that surround the crown, the mind, the wisdom etc.

I can definately see more then a few similiarities and contrasts.

I went through my notes and was looking at these, does anyone see any types that could possibly be represented in these concerning things? (Forgive the colors I just write like that and it can be annoying, I know) it usually helps me make the connections between how something is worded or how I might see it connected to a previous verse or something.

Locusts were referred by Pharoah as"this death" (which darken the land) Locusts have no King as is stated in Job but indeed THEY DO in Revelation AS HE is KING OVER ALL THE CHILDREN OF **PRIDE** which **GOETH BEFORE** DESTRUCTION = THUS **HIS NAME** (as interpreted)= DESTRUCTION. For its God also TURNETH A MAN TO IT (as vessels of destruction) SAYING (unto the Sons **OF MEN**) **RETURN**



Prov 18:12 (((Before))) destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility.

Prov 16:18 Pride goeth (((before))) destruction, andan haughty spirit before a fall.

Psalm 90:3 Thou turnest man ((( to))) destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.

1Titus 3:6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.

Psalm 12:4 Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us?


So we have locusts coming "out of" the smoke

SMOKE = THEY WHICH SAY "I AM HOLIER THEN THOU" = SMOKE OF **MY NOSE**= WRATH= AS A KINGS WRATH (which DARKENS THE LAND as both locusts and wrath do) = MESSENGERS OF DEATH (after A COVENANT?) For it says, THE LAW worketh WRATH

Makes me think of "this" if the smoke are a "people" here ...

The sun is shown in various settings in this one Im wondering if its as the hope HELD OUT concerning glorious light of the gospel of Christ shining unto others. Its BY REASON of THE SMOKE the SUN is DARKENED (TURNED / PERVERTED) AS The PERVERTING OF the GOSPEL). THE LOCUSTS are also shown (in Pharoah) as THAT which "DARKENS the land" CALLED (by Him) **THIS DEATH**and its BY WRATH= that which pertains to HIS NOSTRILS that the land is DARKENED. Even as a KINGS WRATH is AS MESSENGERS OF DEATH

Luke 11:52 Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the ~key of knowledge~ ye entered not in yourselves, and them that ~were entering in~ ye hindered.

The Sun is TURNED, to TURN IT (the gospel) is to PERVERT (TURN) into darkness (means no light) the light is in relation to the light of knowledge in the face of Christ (OUR righteousness). Verses The SMOKE which say, "Stand not NEAR to ME I am HOLIER THEN THOU...(THEIR OWN righteousness)= "SMOKE IN MY NOSE= "WRATH" He swares IN HIS WRATH pertaining to them not entering HIS REST = Christ

Im wondering These having "one mind" = HIGHMINDEDNESS (Which is the corruptible crown of Ephraim = crowns "LIKE" gold but NOT "of" gold). Womens hair= GLORY IN THEIR SHAME ? The "smoke" (and that which comes out of them) "see themselves" as ~holier then thou~ which indicates their "minds are corrupted" or as "perverse" which is a breach in spirit (God hath "mingled" a perverse spirit in the midst). Self righteous (holier then thou = perverse generation) = prideful and has fallen into the devils condemnation. Pride goeth BEFORE destruction is handed over to THE KING over ALL the children of PRIDE= ABADDON

Job 9:20 If I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me: if I SAY, I am perfect, it shall also ~prove me~ perverse.

I believe the Glory ~of man~ and ~glory of God~ are both shown as a "smoke" so Im trying to divide between the two by focusing on the one

They are not only shown as a "smoke" but also a "fire"

~These~ are a smoke in my nose, ~a fire~ that burneth all ~the day~.

Sons of MEN (twofold the child of hell) snatch others OUT OF "the present fire" is in relation to their garments stained by the "flesh" (perfected after the flesh) is spoken of in Paul and in accordance with being hindered in the race

Psalm 57:4 My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that ~are~ set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword. (power in their mouth could be seen here I would suppose)


These are (((a smoke and a fire)) IN His WRATH = NOSE and their "portion" (or part) is being cut assunder "into it" which is as having their PART with the unbelievers/ hyprocrits

By reason of the SMOKE the SUN and AIR were darkened. Being Children OF Wrath, is having ones land darkened. THE LAW worketh WRATH= SMOKE in MY NOSE (Wrath)

Im wondering if you can see it like this...The law makes NOTHING PERFECT, but these which SAY I AM PERFECT (as Job indicates) = PROVES ONE PERVERSE. BEING In "the midst of" A PERVERSE generation speaks to "these". The Perverting (or turning of) THE light of the SUN ( AS THE HOPE HELD OUT IN GOSPEL) INTO DARKNESS IS also BY REASON OF ++THE SMOKE**. The god of "this world" WHICH BLINDS MINDS = HIGHMINDEDNESS = Locusts have no King goeth in BANDS **having THE SAME MIND* and is as HIS SCALES OVER THEIR EYES (AS A SEAL) = PRIDE = DEVILS very CONDEMNATION. THE BLIND LEADING THE BLIND= IN THE PIT = Thus THE SMOKE OF IT SHUT UP TOGETHER = THEN OPENED= elsewhere speaking of HELL HAVING NO COVERING. Job speaks of SCALES over the EYES being their PRIDE (till he BREAKS the PRIDE of their POWER) **SHUT UP TOGETHER**


AS the SCALES represent their PRIDE AS CLOSED**A SEAL** in having ONE MIND= HIGHMINDEDNESS

Something like SCALES fall off the EYES = PAULS conversion= AS AN OPEN SEAL WITH THE MIND OF CHRIST= SOBERMINDED= OPEN TREASURE = IN EARTHEN VESSEL

Paul said His authority was unto *EDIFICATION* NOT unto DESTRUCTION. Its shown when Jesus gives his own disciples Authority (power) OVER the enemy (included in that were serpents even as mentioned in regards to the description of the locusts) TO TREAD. Jesus said the Pharisees which were as unmarked graves which MEN WALK OVER them unawares. Dont know... Pharoah called the locusts "this death" Paul spoke of the "body of this death" it speaks of "messengers of death" etc I just sorta pull them out and look at them for awhile to see if I see anything in them or no.

No worries sis...you should see what my translation of Daniel chapt 11 looks like!
I had to color code it to be able to see "who was who" and "what was what" in that Chapter! Took me 3 months to do it all

the locusts seem to signify prideful men

thats what I got from it and in Joel 2 the army of God will battle with the locusts out of the pit or darkness / ignorance and the smoke/ self righteouness
