OK I would like to move away from the rather heated discussion of pro/anti war positions that have dominated in this conflict and just ask a question.
How do you think the Iraqi state would function after this war? Does liberation mean a change of mindset?
Can democracy as we see it in the West really survive in a land where theocracy and diverse forms of Islam ?
Could such a democratic state really exist in a land locked country surrounded by other Islamic countries?
What would we do if another Saddam (or worse) came to power?
Do you think the coalition will still be seen as allies once the new government comes in?
If democracy does not work there, is it God's will?
Is democracy working in Afghanistan?
Just some thoughts that I had on the way home from work..God bless...and goodnight!!
