i never said i was trying to get "everyone" to think...only the person with the list...not that that really matters.

besides...i merely stated that this is the way i choose to live. i never said that i expect anyone else to...only to THINK about where im coming from.
It seems as though I have offended you. That wasn't my intent. I apologize.
However, if your desire was to merely get one individual who posted in this thread to "THINK about where (you're) coming from", you should have addressed that individual clearly.

I'm still stickin with what i said...the only thing that determines a good worship band is annointing. period. when God's hand has a role in it...everything else falls into place. i think your definitions of good music would fit secular music quite well though.
If that's your point of view, good for you. However, the OP didn't ask what makes a good "worship band". He asked a general question about what makes a
band good. No specific genre implied other than the fact this thread exists in the Contemporary Christian forum. I would guess that if the OP wanted to discuss worship bands, he would have posted this thread in the Praise & Worship forum...
I feel my definitions apply to any band in any genre. God's hand having a role in the day-to-day existance of a band can be the catalyst for the band to commit themselves to excellence. Which, in turn, produces the end result of playing well live.

what the heck is that? im not sure if you mean to, but you sound rather arrogant in this statement. if not...pay no attention to this. i apologize.
No, I think you're jumping to conclusions. Apology accepted...

however, i too am a musician/songwriter. i know my guitar quite well, and i understand that technicality plays a major role in attracting listeners. but i do not take credit for any of it. the Almighty One is responsible for all of it. he chose to give me the ability that i have. he chose to give me the words to write and sing that will speak to people how he sees fit.
anointing
love all,

Believe me, I am aware of the fact that God has given me the talents I possess. I am also aware that those talents must be maintained through commitment and practice, or they will begin to fade away. I've learned this through experience over the last 18-or-so years.
That's what I meant when I stated I know what it takes to be good at what I do...
