  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My word, I can't believe this! No one has picked Sam for their fictional husband!!! Well, I do.

And, like several others, I refuse to pick an actor. Sean A. and Viggo were the most decent during the interviews I saw, but it just won't be thought of.

And in a sense I agree with that one person with the long username... so sorry. But I guess that it has been long enough since I read the books that I can do this sort of thing. Oh, and Faramir. That was just tragic what they did to him in the movie. It literally made me start crying!

Aragorn - He's a man's man with a heart and a strong character. And the fact that he's King doesn't hurt!! ;)

Viggo Mortensen - So long as he looks like he does in the movie!!!

I agree as to the character of Aragon.

However Viggo Mortensen does not look like the chacracter in the movie by a long shot. He is very multi-talented and keeps to himself. He is not after the limelight and is a very private person. One reason I would marry him.

On another note- when I was in college, a bunch of us picked out characters from the book for the others to be- I was picked as Aragon. Who would you pick to be your character?

If I had to go by book characters I would pick Faramir or Sam to marry and here's why. Both of them are gentle, kind, simplistic, wise, and brave. What more could any woman want in a husband? A sense of humor is sorely lacking in both of their characters. I guess that means that maybe Merry or Pippin would be a smart choice for those who would like to be entertained, but they are knights and are often abroad. At least Faramir would take his bride to live with him in Ithillien.
With the actors as far as looks go...Dom Monaghan. Funky looking, but cute. Unfortunately I wouldn't want any of them for a spouse...unless any of them were at all like the book Faramir or Sam.
Slainte!

FRODO BAGGINS

I had an unhealthy obsession for Frodo for 5 years after I read the book. I used to write and read fanfiction and everything haha. Then when I saw the movie, I knew that I absolutely LOVE the way Frodo looks in the movies. Thank you Elijah Wood! I like you with that wig on!

He's drop dead gorgeous.

I think I have a lot in common with Frodo. He's an outcast, he's a dreamer for fantasy and loves to read, and keeps to himself. How perfect. :)

I think I've even convinced myself that he's real haha.

I think Elrond would be a good match for me. He's an idealist but enough of a realist to realize when you have to be practical and the dream of doing things the way you would "in a perfect world" can't happen. He also thinks of others more than himself. The way he is concerned for his people and their welfare. He knows what to fight for and when to abandon the fight. He loves his daughter so much that he can bear losing her, becuase he knows will have to let her make her own way and be happy. These are all admirable traits.

Orlando is so hot and all the moves he did were awesome! though he looks way better as an elf then in real life...

I used to have a mad crush on Legolas! Groovy the bit when he slides down stairs on shield *woohoo* I agree with the Orlando thing! Much better with pointy ears lol

It is such a difficult decision though as to which actor I'd marry. Probably none!

You can't possibly want to marry a spider!!!!?
In the book I would marry Boromere because I liked him and there is no mention of any lady caring about him.
As for an actor...Viggo Mortessen because he always seemed to do or say the right thing in the movies I saw that had him.
