What kind of Baptist are you?

I attend a Soutern Baptist church, I do not identify myself as a "southern baptist" or even as a baptist. I am a Christian, and when I eventually go overseas as a missionary it is 95% certain that I will go with a non-denominational board.

I cannot blame you there. I'm a Christian first and a Baptist somewhere down the line...

I have no idea. Over in the UK the Baptist church is just the Baptist church. There are not all these strange little side bits to it trying to separate the church even further.

now see, growing up I was a credobaptist Presbyterian - my pastor says that makes me a Baptist

Ask a moderator, maybe this is still possible, or maybe it's possible to at least change the word 'other' to 'Reformed Baptists" as I think all who voted other are Reformed Baptists.

So I'm feeling pretty clueless. Does anyone want to explain the differences to me? As well as what calvanistic, arminian, and dispensationalist mean?

I am a Southern Baptist who has very conservative values. I was raised old school by my parents.

I'm just thankful to be a Christian. It is definitely challenging in which I tend to "fall short" often but I have faith in myself to overcome life's obstacles.

I voted Other because I'm not sure where we land. lol We agree 99% with Southern Baptist doctrine, but I'm Calvinist. So, tomorrow we're going to a Soveriegn Grace Baptist church because hubby likes the conservativeness, it's close to our home, and I'll get to hear the true Word of God preached, not some watered down drivel. (Sorry, we visited a different denom for the last six weeks and I'm over what I learned about them.

I know a good Sovereign Grace Baptist church near Talladega. Small but a wonderful group of saints.
