The Particular Baptist were so concerned with Unity in the small things that anyone who says that they would have paired with General Baptists is lying. Minutes from their meetings indicate that they were having arguments over buckles or buttons on suspenders.

They were that concerned with unity in attire, how much more concerned were they with theology?

Hello

Maybe I originally posted this question in the wrong :confused: thread, a sticky ;) after all;
so forgive my reposting it in here, as I noticed on pg.4 here, that "southern"-baptists were listed as #-1 in this poll.

I read both the references in this sticky, plus the 'anabaptists' sticky; but
neither gave an explanation of: 121 Community Church, a Southern Baptist-related congregation in Grapevine, Texas".

Would you people, who are baptist (I am not, but rather a spirit-filled, non-denominational christian) - please
explain how the 121 Community church does their thing...
Yes, I have their website bookmarked: One:Twenty One Community Church | 121 Mission Philosophy; but
not many details there, on how they might differ, from what I & others might believe.

Thank :) you! in advance for any insight you can share, & in-Christ  richly-Blessed  live...

IM A MEMBER OF WESTBORO BAPTIST CHURCH! AND I [wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth]S, AND GOD S [wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth]S! THEY SHOULD BE KILLED! AND ALL UNBELIEVERS LIKE YOURSELF SHOULD BE KILLED!

Established in 1955 by Paster Fred Phelps, the Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) of Topeka, Kansas still exists today as an Old School (or, Primitive) Baptist Church. We adhere to the teachings of the Bible, preach against all form of sin (e.g., fornication, ery [including divorce and remarriage], ), and insist that the sovereignty of God and the doctrines of grace be taught and expounded publicly to all men. These doctrines of grace were well summed up by John Calvin in his 5 points of Calvinism: Total depravity, unconditional Election, Limited Atonement, Irresistible Grace, and Perseverance of the Saints. Although these doctrines are almost universally d today, they were once loved and believed. Even though the Arminian lies that "God loves everyone" and "Jesus died for everyone" are being taught from nearly every pulpit in this generation, this hasn't always been the case. If you are in a church that supposedly believes the Bible, and you are hearing these lies, then your church doesn't teach what the Bible teaches. If you care about your never-dying soul, you will carefully read every word of this web site, along with the entire Bible.
WBC engages in daily peaceful sidewalk demonstrations opposing the homosexual lifestyle of soul-damning, nation-destroying filth. We display large, colorful signs containing Bible words and sentiments, including: GOD S [wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth], [wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth] GOD, AIDS CURES [wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth], THANK GOD FOR AIDS, [wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth] BURN IN HELL, GOD IS NOT MOCKED, [wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth] ARE NATURE FREAKS, GOD GAVE [wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth] UP, NO SPECIAL LAWS FOR [wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth], [wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth] DOOM NATIONS, THANK GOD FOR SOLDIERS, [wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth] TROOPS, GOD BLEW UP THE TROOPS, GOD S AMERICA, AMERICA IS DOOMED, THE WORLD IS DOOMED, etc.
Perceiving the modern militant homosexual movement to pose a clear and present danger to the survival of America, exposing our nation to the wrath of God as in 1898 B.C. at Sodom and Gomorrah, WBC has conducted over 33,000 such demonstrations since June, 1991, at homosexual parades and other events, including funerals of impenitent sodomites (like Matthew Shepard) and over 200 military funerals of troops whom God has killed in Iraq/Afghanistan in righteous judgment against an evil nation. America crossed the line on June 26, 2003, when the Supreme Court (the conscience of the nation) ruled that we must respect . WBC teams have picketed all over the United States, and internationally (including Canada, Jordan and Iraq). The unique picketing ministry of Westboro Baptist Church has received international attention, and WBC believes this gospel message to be this world's last hope.
For more information about WBC, feel free to attend one of our weekly church meetings. We are located at 3701 W. 12th Street in Topeka, KS. Regular service time is 12:00 p.m. (Central time).

As a disabled veteran, I want to say that America is the way it is because of people like Westboro Baptist Church. Westboro preaches . If you read the Bible (which I don't think anyone at Westboro does) it plainly states that GOD IS LOVE. I am extremely proud that our government has made a law stopping picketing at soldiers funerals. I don't condone gay marriage, homosexuality, or abortion because they are sins. However, Jesus himself stated that we should not anyone but rather love one another as God loves us. Let me put it this way. What if you were in one of these categories and Westboro was picketing against you or someone in your family that you love dearly. Would you be upset? I'm happy that some of Fred Phelp's children opened their eyes and saw what their father was doing is wrong. I don't consider Phelps a reverend or a preacher of the gospel, but rather a preacher of the devil. I just wish I was at the pearly gates when Phelps gets there for I can see his face when God makes him realize what he did was wrong. The Phelps family are too cowardly to take insults because they would rather hide behind their lawyers (who happens to be a couple of Fred Phelps' own children). As a preacher of the gospel, it makes me sick to see people out there saying they are doing it for Jesus but in actuality they are only carrying out their own agenda. Over the past couple of years, I have come to think of Fred Phelps as a mental ist. A mental ist focuses on breaking down one's spirit to achieve their own goal. May God bless America and may He have mercy on the Phelps family.

I used to be an independent fundamentalist Baptist but any more, I am a Southern Baptist. :) I switched because while the beliefs are similar, Southern Baptists don't put restrictions on what Bible version you can use.
This is what you posted on Jan. 7th. (I voted Other. I am an independent fundamentalist Baptist.) Your post above was made Feb. 10th. I have never seen someone change with the wind so often it makes you head spin.

Back on topic sorry

I voted before this got ironed out. I voted SBC(because I belong to an SBC church), but I am of the Calvinistic nature. Actually, my church is of the Calvinistic leaning.....

mlqurgw said:
I truly fit in the "other" category. I am an independent Baptist who holds without compromise or apology to the Doctrines of Grace commonly called Calvinism.....

And since some are throwing aspects of their theology out there I am a fundamentalist, evangelical, calvinistic,.....

I also voted other... Reformed Baptist.

I voted Other because I'm not sure where we land. lol We agree 99% with Southern Baptist doctrine, but I'm Calvinist.

Another Reformed Baptist here. :D

She is struggling and confused, and needs our prayers. There is a link to her personal journal on her profile page if you would like to know more.
