:wave:PaladinGirl, welcome to CF. My identity as a Christian comes from my relationship with Christ Jesus, not a denomination.

Matthew 7:15-19
15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Hi everyone. What is your reason for being a Non-Denominational Christian?

Unity of Sprit. I desire not to be associated with other denominations who are split on diverse interpretations of the Holy Bible. I believe when the Holy Bible is properly studied that the Holy Spirit is the only authorized interpreter.

I believe that just because the Holy Spirit has led me to the knowledge of something, I acknowledge and accept that HE may not have led my brothers and sisters in Chirst to this same knowledge. By accepting each other on the basis of belief in Christ Jesus only and allowing the Holy Spirit to work through each individual to me shows trust in GOD.

Here is what this site has posted as pertains to Non-Denominational.

I haven't found a denomination that I can identify with. I'm 49 years ago, and have been a Christian for nearly 33 years.

I'm currently attending a Baptist church, but am not a Baptist myself

This song about sums it up for me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEV7j0lUdHo You'll have click on the link that's above the video to take you directly to Youtube.

coz no theology of a particular denomination makes me totally agree.
like i dont believe Popal Infallibility.I cant be Catholic.
i also think deed and faith constitute an entia, not only "Faith justifies men.",if a man has faith, then he will do good deeds.so i cant be Lutheran either.
anyway, i think to classify denominations is a mistake at the very beginning.

I honestly don't like to refer to myself as a non-denomination christians because now-a-days non-denomination is a denomination. But I use non-demoninational to express without a denomination.

People like to discount the Apostle Paul, but I follow Christ as Paul followed Christ. after all, Paul didn't learn the gospel through man, or seminariy, or from chat forums. Paul was taught directly from Christ himself.

Galatians 1:12

For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

He also spent a total of about 17 years in the desert, and was stoned to death and whipped just short of death, shipwrecked, bitten by a venomous snake, imprisoned several times, run out of town, etc.

Hi everyone. What is your reason for being a Non-Denominational Christian?

Well, to be honest, it's because I don't find any one church that I identify with as being "my church." I love the Catholics, the Baptists, the Pentecostals, the Presbyterians, the Methodists, the Lutherans, etc. Any church that embraces Jesus Christ as the Savior, and openly worships Him, adores Him, see's Him as the One, True, Son of God, who died for our sins and who was raised again by God the Father.... Any church that also embraces the Holy Trinity... Any church that believes in a Holy Spirit... Any church that believes Jesus is returning to reign and rule, and bring His children to Him.. That's a church I want to know more about.

My church is the Father, Son, Holy Spirit and me worshipping them. I can worship them at my home, in a sanctuary, in my yard, out in a field, in my car, anywhere. Anywhere I am with them, worshipping, praising, is my church.

Feeling so strongly, the presence of my God, as I say these things, I just have to say PRAISE GOD and Oh how I love Him so. Hallelujah!

26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 14:26 (KJV)

and

8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Col 2:8 (KJV)

These scriptures have been something which has caused me to cling to the non-denominational aspects of Christianity, believing that the Holy Ghost would bring me closer to our Father; that isn't to say that the rest of the Christians in other facets of belief are misguided, instead just that this is where it has led me.

Grace and peace be upon you all.

i am non-denominational because i know that i am a Christian and i know that denominations have "rules" that i can't seem to agree 100% with. i have my own way of knowing i'm a Christan and it's my relationship with God. i know what i believe and what i think is right and every denomination seems to agree with something i don't. :)

Hello, everyone; I'm new to the forum.

If I'm being completely honest, I'm not a non-denominational Christian, I'm a Calvary Chapelite. (They may say they're not a denomination, but they are). I am because I was raised that way. I am now just starting to look into other denominations, to see if I am being led elsewhere.

I was raised Catholic became Atheist/Buddhist then found out that the Catholic Church denies that Jesus is the only way in several ways, particularly in its claim that you don't need to know Jesus or God and that you can even be Muslim, Pagan, and Atheist and still go to heaven, in violation of Jesus' own words and the first commandment.

" In the first place we must recall the people to whom the testament and the promises were given and from whom Christ was born according to the flesh.(125) On account of their fathers this people remains most dear to God, for God does not repent of the gifts He makes nor of the calls He issues.(126); But the plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator. In the first place amongst these there are the Mohamedans, who, professing to hold the faith of Abraham, along with us adore the one and merciful God, who on the last day will judge mankind. Nor is God far distant from those who in shadows and images seek the unknown God, for it is He who gives to all men life and breath and all things,(127) and as Saviour wills that all men be saved.(128) Those also can attain to salvation who through no fault of their own do not know the Gospel of Christ or His Church, yet sincerely seek God and moved by grace strive by their deeds to do His will as it is known to them through the dictates of conscience.(19*) Nor does Divine Providence deny the helps necessary for salvation to those who, without blame on their part, have not yet arrived at an explicit knowledge of God and with His grace strive to live a good life."

"Religions, however, that are bound up with an advanced culture have struggled to answer the same questions by means of more refined concepts and a more developed language. Thus in Hinduism, men contemplate the divine mystery and express it through an inexhaustible abundance of myths and through searching philosophical inquiry. They seek freedom from the anguish of our human condition either through ascetical practices or profound meditation or a flight to God with love and trust. Again, Buddhism, in its various forms, realizes the radical insufficiency of this changeable world; it teaches a way by which men, in a devout and confident spirit, may be able either to acquire the state of perfect liberation, or attain, by their own efforts or through higher help, supreme illumination. Likewise, other religions found everywhere try to counter the restlessness of the human heart, each in its own manner, by proposing "ways," comprising teachings, rules of life, and sacred rites. The Catholic Church rejects nothing that is true and holy in these religions. She regards with sincere reverence those ways of conduct and of life, those precepts and teachings which, though differing in many aspects from the ones she holds and sets forth, nonetheless often reflect a ray of that Truth which enlightens all men. Indeed, she proclaims, and ever must proclaim Christ "the way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:6), in whom men may find the fullness of religious life, in whom God has reconciled all things to Himself.(4) The Church, therefore, exhorts her sons, that through dialogue and collaboration with the followers of other religions, carried out with prudence and love and in witness to the Christian faith and life, they recognize, preserve and promote the good things, spiritual and moral, as well as the socio-cultural values found among these men.
3. The Church regards with esteem also the Moslems. They adore the one God, living and subsisting in Himself; merciful and all- powerful, the Creator of heaven and earth,(5) who has spoken to men; they take pains to submit wholeheartedly to even His inscrutable decrees, just as Abraham, with whom the faith of Islam takes pleasure in linking itself, submitted to God. Though they do not acknowledge Jesus as God, they revere Him as a prophet. They also honor Mary, His virgin Mother; at times they even call on her with devotion. In addition, they await the day of judgment when God will render their deserts to all those who have been raised up from the dead. Finally, they value the moral life and worship God especially through prayer, almsgiving and fasting."
