So.. hypothetically-speaking, do you feel it is possible to have an equal partnership where 2 people "take turns" leading? Or, would you (hypothetically) acquiesce to her leadership?
What's your definition of leadership, other than those or the one who decides on the direction of a group?
For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
First, God says the man is head of the woman, and that wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
Then, to balance it out, God tells us to love our wives like Christ loved the church.
Since God gives all people free choice to make their own decisions, while giving them needed advice to succeed, because that is how cool God is, then even though men are head of the women, it means women can live their lives the way they want, but they have to discuss and come up with the best way to do that with their husbands.
Therefore, men are expected to be the leaders of a relationship, but discussing all things with their wives so both can live the lives they want while maintaining their family.
