Does it really have to be one? I have several that are tied for top spot.
In no particular order:
Iron Man 1
Iron Man 2 (iron man 3 got kind of stupid)
Armageddon
Independence Day (Can't wait for the new one to come out)
Star Trek (pretty much all of them were top notch movies)
Forrest Gump
Cast Away
Shawshank Redemption
Django Unchained
Gravity
National Treasure (both 1 and 2)
Unbroken
Oblivion
Paul (funny stuff there)
Pearl Harbor
Rocky (1, 2, 3 and even 4) After that they got stupid.
Green Mile

Oh man,, there's so many really really good movies. Unfortunately, Hollywood is starting to run out of original or even semi-original ideas. Everything seems to be going to remakes now. The new Superman movie "Man of Steel" was pretty good too.

I'd also have to say that when I see Tom Hanks in a movie, I don't even bother to look at the synopsis, I just get it and watch it. He's probably one of the greatest actors of our time.

Hard to say what my favorite might be because there are many I will always stop and watch when they are on no matter how many times I've seen them but I think if I had to pick I'd say Shawshank was my fave. I was one of the few who actually saw it in the theater and have probably seen it a hundred times by now and it never gets old.

I actually enjoy a variety of movies as long as they are fairly clean with a basic worldviews that do not go against Biblical principles.

Here is a list of a few notable ones that stand out to me, both Christian and mainstream:

Miracles from Heaven
Heaven is for Real
McFarland USA

The Karate Kid trilogy (from the '80s)
The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band
Any Shirley Temple movie
Our Gang and Laurel & Hardy shorts
Modern Times (with Charlie Chaplin)
Little Rascals (the 1994 film based on the Our Gang films)
Flywheel
Soul Surfer
Welcome to Paradise
The Way
We Bought A Zoo
Patch Adams
RV
Annie
(the 1982 version)
Seven Alone
Courageous
Late One Night
Love Note
Step Over the Edge
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
Papa Was a Preacher
Dark Valley
Friendship's Field
Parent Trap
(both the 1961 and 1998 versions)
Sam's Son

... and this doesn't scratch the surface, as there have been quite a few movies that have been impressive to me over the years.
