That is a very good answer. I am a Word of Faith person and even though I wanted to pray for my dad to be healed, he wanted to go home, so I told him to go. He did! God will not override our wills because he is a legal God and he gave us the freedom to choose right or wrong in our choices, we also have to remember the enemy hates us and he will do everything in his power to get us to make the wrong choice. He cant take our lives, but he can sure help us to mess it up and cost us.

The thorn in Pauls flesh was a messenger of satan, it was not a physical illness. Read the word and see what Paul said. God NEVER puts sickness on his people and if you were really Word of Faith you would never tell someone that. Gods word says he would that we would be in health even as our soul prospers and Jesus took all sickness on the cross, so why would God take it back and put it on you!!!! That doesnt line up with the Word.

I'm also new to this forum, and I didn't realize I was infringing on the rules of the WOF forum by posting my questions here.

But, thank you Ben for taking the time to answer my questions. As the one who opened the thread, I will withdraw and consider it closed.

Again, I apologize. (I know better now. :) )

Rahmiyn,

I was more than happy to answer your questions because they seemed genuine and it was nice to be able to actually answer them in this forum without 6 or 7 people pitching in and explaining why the Word doesn't actually work the way I have worked it for years!

The reason I said what I said to Andy was that there are several "thorn in the flesh" debates going on elsewhere in this forum, and I don't want to have one in this room. I go to this room when I need a bit of R&R and be around people who know their God and do exploits.

See you around - or back here when you realize the Word of God is the source of power and life and truth and change your icon to the shield!

Blessings,
Benjamin

I have enjoyed the Q and A from all participants in this thread. Thanks to KingZzub for your experienced answers. I like what you talk and how you say it.
I am wondering though. With the RL example given about the young child that died from the cancer; that his parents had no belief in the will and power of God to act on their behalf; Why wasn't the fact of 'authority' mentioned here? After all, even if the parents had no real trust [faith] that God would change their kid's circumstances to life, they could have been removed from the room while those who had faith could attend to spiritual matters "with the parent's permission"?
Remember Jairus's daughter? Jesus had permission to enter Jairus's home. Jesus ran the faithless brood of mourners out of the house before raising her up. Jesus also encouraged Jairus to believe even though a messenger said that she had died and to forget it!
Upon the directions that I have gathered from a sermon that Smith Wigglesworth gave that will coincide nicely with Jesus's interaction with Jairus is that there must be; #1. Ministration, as slight as the encouragement from Jesus may have been, Jairus was pressed to believe in Him as a Healer. #2. Operation. Jesus, with the authority given by Jairus, acted out of the measure of faith that was within Him. #3. Manifestation. Jesus knew without a shred of doubt what He meant to God and was willing to stand until 'faith' made it so!
One last thing here. We, who are in Christ and have His Word dwelling Richly within us, and are indwelt by His Holy Spirit [for these 3 things are a definate must!] have been given a limited measure of the Spirit of God. There will always be times when you will have to just say to your Lord, "Lord! I have used all of the faith that I have in me!" What does a saint do now? Ask Jesus to give of His full measure that He alone possesses. Remember that Jesus told us to ask Him if we had a need and He would give it to us! He will add His measure to yours. God must get the Glory and adoration for all manifestation!
