What Is "To Walk As He Walked"?

... all of the fruits of the Spirit are aspects of God's nature that are in accordance with it.

I see the fruit of the Spirit as a singular thing. Not like spiritual gifts, which are individualized. The fruit of the Spirit is realized through spiritual maturity. A person doesn't have one "fruit", while not having the others. We can't say "Patience is not my fruit.", or "Love is not my fruit.", or "Self-control is not my fruit."

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

What exactly does that mean to walk JUST as Jesus walked?

1 John 2:6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also
to walk just as He walked.

To fully consider this verse look to the keyword 'abide'; for before he says walk,
he says "abide in Him". This is thematic to the entire epistle, for he uses the word 18 times.
Later in this chapter, he uses the word 3 times.
1 John 2:24 Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning.
If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in
the Son and in the Father.

John shows that he was paying close attention to the details, as he quotes Jesus
in the Gospel using the word 15 times in John 12-16.
John 15:10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as
I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

To walk as He walked is to walk in love, and the Light of Truth
Ephesians 5:
2 And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us,
an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.
8 For you were once darkness, but now light in the Lord. Walk as children of light
9 (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth),
10 finding out what is acceptable to the Lord.

Right. Which reminds me of the vine and branches in John chapter fifteen. I love that concept. The life giving aspect flows through us toward the fruit that is produced. Which means our main focus is staying connected (abiding). We can't do it ourselves. Especially if we disconnect from the vine. (root stump)

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
