"In Vanity Fair, Tina reminisces about the call she received from Jess a few days into her Fijian honeymoon: "Mom, I'm having so much fun, I'm so in love, and sex is so amazing."

Hmmm.... well she abstained from sex until she was married and now after having sex with her husband, she enjoys it. I think this is actually telling teens a good thing. That if you abstain like Jessica then when you are married, you too will have amazing sex.

Don't see anything wrong with it.

I think teens already know that sex is great and enjoyable even if they have never had it, what we should be telling them is that sex is beyond great and enjoyable when you are in a committed and loving relationship with one other person. And that's kind of what this Jessica Simpson quote is saying. She's promoting waiting for amazing sex with your spouse. She enjoys being married and having sex for the first time on her honeymoon with her husband who she loves. I do think it's kind of weird that she told her mom that and then her mom told a magazine.

I agree with everyone else. I don't see anything wrong with it. And the fact that Jessica Simpson was so open about the fact that she was waiting for marriage beforehand makes it not quite so weird that it would be something that her mom would comment on. I mean, it's not like her mom (and the rest of the world) didn't know what she was doing in Fiji, ya know? If anything, it should give teens a positive message...that even high profile celebrities have enough moral fiber to stand up for their beliefs in such an open way.

what im saying is that we shouldnt encourage teens....i mean yeah marriage makes it better and you all have very good points its just that that i think would encourage.... no we shouldnt like to teens im a teen myself... and i just dont think that we should put comments out like that to the public where teens could take it the wrong way... i really wish this world would do everything to stop sex before marriage because now we have tons of teens and young adults dieing of STDs and AIDS i mean think about it... we shouldnt promote sex at all in any way unless it is after marriage which in her case it is but still.... it could encourage anyone who took it the wrong way thats all

HomeChicklet, did you just finish a True Love Waits course or something? 'Cause you seem to be missing the gist of her comments. Jessica Simpson is saying sex - with her husband, for whom she waited to marry before having sex - is great. You're only getting the "sex is good" part of her message, but seem to be completely missing the "with my husband who I saved myself for" part of the message.

yes i have finsiheda thing on that with my youth group and i have also read some books.... i understand the husband part...and thats great seriously i cant think of another pop artist that i know for sure that has done that it sjust that if someon took that the wrong way (also i dont think her sex life and wiehter its nice or not should be public) it could lead to other things let me give you a "for instance" lets say there is a young girl who adores Jessica Simpson....and she has an older boyfirned....or vice versa......( i strongly belive girls can seduce too) and they were told this among that "you would do it if youloved me" what are they gonna think i eamn seduction for one is hard enough i have been tried with it.....and said no..... but also if they wre young they would have more trouble saying no if they absolutely adore her i think it would make em feel more like her.....maybe i am to critically thinking on this im just stating what i see thats all.....grant she waited and i see whee all are you are coming from its just that if a very good con got ahold of it with a young adolescent i think it could be used wrongly and besides that i didnt watn to know her business but i see where you all are comign from and you all make good sense

*raises hand* Dude, I'm a teen. What I got from this message "Jessica Simpson is pretty stupid about a lot of things, but at least she's smart about not having sex before marriage. I'm glad she loves her husband." Sure, I know that sex is probably great, but it's even greater if you abstain from it until you're married. That's what I got from what Jess was saying. I also got "Man, her mom is also pretty stupid to broadcast telephone calls from her daughter on her honeymoon to the world."

Oh. My. Gosh!

Never, NEVER tell your teens that sex is enjoyable. Liken it to hell on earth. Make them afraid of it so they will never want to try it even after marriage. That way, they will grow up well adjusted, and in touch with reality.

...or we could teach them the way of the Lord and why sex is so special and beautiful that God reserved it for marriage and it is not to be abused. In fact, it's so special that God made it FEEL GOOD. (perish the thought)

Nah, forget it. Those sex craved, hormone driven little heathens shouldn't know the truth. Let's lie to them in the name of God.

[loving frustration] HomeChicklet, are you being raised in a household where matters of sex are not discussed and regarded as taboo? Have your parents led you to believe that you were conceived in anguish and torment? Most teens don't like to think about these things but your parents enjoyed the heck out of themselves when you were conceived. They were (I assume) married so it's ok. Really, God ordained it.[/loving frustration]
