While traveling yesterday, scanning radio, I caught part of a song that I'm pretty sure was on a Christian radio station. I've been searching the internet using lyrics I heard, but can't find it; and then found this forum, so hoping somebody here can help me....

It had kind of a country sound
The singer talked about the bible that he did see his father read much, but knew he did because the pages were worn out... the main verse went something like, love your brother more than you love yourself, forgive others as you'd like to be forgiven. ..... etc. ? 'cuz you might be the only bible another man ever reads... toward the end of the song, I think the singer had possession of the bible, probably becaus his father had passed away... ? perhaps he was singing about lessons from his "father" or even just living like his "father" from example... ? not sure.....

It's frustrating, I didn't get enough of it and was distracted from the radio, the station never named anything about it, it went to commercials and then on to other music.

That's about all I can remember, I didn't get the whole thing, but I really think there was something awesome there and would like be able to find it to here the whole thing....

Thanks for any help,

Would be a big stretch based on your memory of the lyrics, but thematically and the ending would be in line with Three Wooden Crosses by Randy Travis. That's also a country sounding song. You can find videos on-line.

Don't know if you ever found your answer, I just now saw it. The song is called "The Only Bible" and is by "The Midsouth Boys' or later known simply as "Midsouth." Amazing group with an amazing testimony. I saw them twice but don't think they are together anymore. You can still see videos of them on YouTube. I believe this song is actually on there too.
