And how is accepting deviance in doctrine within Christianity not a double standard?
The Bible can basically categorized into two parts, 1) the salvation message, 2) other information as knowledge
Daniel 12:4 (NIV)
But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.”
God allows the knowledge part to be deviated to form the various denomination. However, God doesn't allow the first part to be deviated as a deviated salvation message won't save. Thus a deviation in the salvation message is a heresy instead of a denomination. Other religions have the same effect of a heresy in that they don't save.
