And according to internet rules on every "Christian" forum, that I know of,
no one is permitted to
tell the truth about the differences. (i.e. everyone must make sure of their own salvation, without help from others, effectively; and most people do not care to)
Wow!

Is the rule enforced?

Is the rule enforced?
As Jesus said of the government(s) of the world: The world will make more laws than anyone could possibly keep, then will enforce them selectively, as they wish.

This way peace and tranquilty is maintained, or there would be great chaos.

Might be tough to discern here.

One thread tells me I can't be a Christian and I'm a devil because I believe in the second ammendment, self defense, own a firearm, served law enforcement, served in military and voted.

Another thread has christians calling for wealthy people to be robbed and killed.

Quite a desparity.

If I have to be one or the other or none...I'll choose none. I guess I'm not a Christian after all.

I wonder what I am?

What did Jesus say?

16) For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Jesus says, to have everlasting life you have to believe in Him...and be against the 2nd Amendment, believe in Him...and rob/kill the wealthy (huh?), believe in Him...and (insert any other action here). No, Jesus says if you believe in Him you will not perish and will have everlasting life...period.

Believe in Him and trust Him to do what He said He will do.

Well,
almost.
Yes,
He will always do as He says, His Way, always TRUTH.

But remember the demons believe too, and perish. They are terrified, and they do what is wrong all the time.

Ekklesia DO HIS WORD, not just HEARERS, but DOERS.... ALL HIS WORD, as HE SAYS.

Romans 10:9-10:
9) If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10) For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.

That means nothing at all without all the rest of Scripture, or if the rest of Scripture is rejected..

Especially all the warnings re revelations of YHWH that you may reject, wittingly or unwittingly.

It is not written that they perish, but that they tremble. It is important to understand why, and in what way that gives us a position of power.

Ephesians 2:8-9
8) God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9) Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

Someone can claim all the PROMISES OF GOD, have them all memorised, and still die unforgiven.

Because they ignored God.

God's plan of salvation means nothing at all? That's a pretty big claim.

Without all of God's Word, as in
when anyone rejects His Warnings
(to the disciples and all those following Y'SHUA and YHWH)
which in Scripture Jesus gives or talks about stern warnings of judgment more than talking of or about heaven,
they who reject His warnings are left without TRUTH - with empty / vain hope -
because they rejected God's Word
hoping a false hope for Salvation, for God's Blessing,
without honoring Him, without actually believing Him,
without honoring or trusting His Word.

Thus the "bless me club" - calling "Lord, Lord" but not even knowing Him,
not obeying Him, not destined for Salvation as HE Says in His Word
- a stern warning to everyone to never ignore His Word....

Believe that Jesus died for your sins. Nothing more and nothing less.

Remember, Jesus died for everyone's sins. If you accept that his sacrifice personally paid the punishment for your sins you are saved. You don't have to do anything else.

(so many people make the same "easy believism" mistakes without repentance or obedience or anything ,
not as if man has anything to offer Jesus, no, (except "willingness" to start; willingness to do all that YHWH says) ....
and all through Scripture YHWH makes known what is good and right and truth)

"Man does not live by bread alone,

but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God."

John 3 Revised Standard Version (RSV)

"That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.[a]

Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born anew.’[b]

The wind[c] blows where it wills, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know whence it comes or whither it goes;

so it is with every one who is born of the Spirit.”

For God sent the Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.

He who believes in him is not condemned; he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world,

and men loved darkness rather than light,

because their deeds were evil.

For every one who does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.

But he who does what is true comes to the light,

that it may be clearly seen that his deeds have been wrought in God.

In answer to the question in the title of this thread:

The true Christian is one who strives to always do the right thing in spite of the opposition of others --- who are frequently his fellow Christians.

Please read my post above yours again. Don't make being saved complicated. It isn't.

Thanks for your answer Pescador but I'm posing this question, specifically, to Yeshuaslavejeff. Yeshuaslavejeff, imagine I'm just a guy out on the street, that you've stopped to talk to about Christianity. When he asks you, "What must I do to be saved?", what do you tell him?
