No.

The Old Testament scriptures declare the Trinity even if the Jews were not able to understand as much. The Quran denies the Trinity though they claim to worship the same god as the Hebrews.

John.

I'd say not.

Although I would like to mention that Antiochian Orthodox churches that conduct their liturgy in Arabic will refer to God as "Allah" in Arabic. However, they are definitely not praying to the Muslim god, they are praying to the Christian God!

Wow, I never knew that. Thanks.

Thanks Matrona for getting the info out about the use of "Allah" in the Arabic liturgy. You are correct in stating that although the words may be the same, the conceptualization certainly is not.
There was a lot of discussion of this topic immeadiatly post 911. Although I am as sensitive as anyone when it comes to tolerance for Muslims, (my daughter and son=in=law follow the teachings of Islam  ) I can categorically state that we DO NOT worship the same God. Muslims hold Christ up as a "good man" and a "prophet" but categorically reject the notion that He is in fact the Incarnate God. Hence,we have a major area of disagreemnet, an unbridgeable gap in theology.
This is not a popular position to hold in our pluralistic society. AS previously stated, I believe we need to demonstrate Christian charity towards all those of different faith traditions. And it certainly doesn't hurt to have a rudimentary understanding of the basic tenets of those various traditions.
Alas, I digress. :)
His unworthy servant,
Eusebios.

I've seen pictures of Orthodox churches in Eastern Europe (in territory that was once under Muslim control) that have a crescent moon (the symbol of Islam...which was actually a symbol of the Byzantine Empire before the Ottomans appropriated it) on its side (not the way Muslims display the symbol) at the foot of the cross on top of the churches. I think that speaks fairly clearly that we don't consider each other to have the same God.

Muslims deny the trinity and the divinity of Christ.

As bad as that is (and I'm certainly not trying to white wash it), the Ecumenical Patriarch has made some statements about other religions that I'm sure the overwhelming majority of Orthoodox Christians wouldn't be in accord with.

We definitely do not worship the same God. Theologically, we worship the Father through Jesus Christ. Our Lord Jesus Christ. Since we believe that Jesus Christ is God, then we are definitely not worshipping Allah.

It is true that Allah simply means God in Arabic.

I have no tolerance for muslims. There are many muslims in my school who try to convert even their teachers. I feel so angry. Because they will tell you: "You know, Umut, it is never too late to turn back."
and I say to them: "You know it is never too late to be quiet and stop disturbing me."

These are the kind of people who are a disgrace to the world. They believe that the idea of fasting (which they blatantly plagirised from the New Testament) is just something you have to do because "It is the will of Allah."

Such ignorant boobs.

I almost ALMOST hate them!

Umut, we must love our enemies.

By our love, God may have mercy on them and convert them. There are millions of muslims who have recently converted to Christianity. One of the CFers here posted that information. It's not too well known.
