What is the illness associated with the Lord's supper?

Because the church was just beginning and God held the early church to great discipline. Plus the Apostles were still alive and functioning as the developer of the early church. God was still working great miracles through these men.

It is just like it is not seen now where a preacher walks up to a church member and says something similar to what Peter said to Ananias and Sapphira and the church member died there on the spot.

So it was very bad for the first church to eat the Lord's supper in an unworthy manner but God let's people today get away with this serious error? What scripture would you base this on?

Very interesting question. I'll point out that in the earliest church, one could expect to be killed by God, for lying to the Apostles, at least about some subjects. On that basis yes, I'll say that the churches have been changed quite a lot.

That is possible I guess but we do have the spiritual blindness to talk about.

In Matthew 6 Jesus said that being rich will fill your eyes with darkness.

Psalms 115 said that idolaters with be blind like their statues. Wealth is a form of idolatry in my opinion.

Revelation 3 says that the rich church was blind.

In Matthew 13 Jesus said in the sower parable that wealth is deceptive.

In my opinion all those scriptures are connected with one sin. Wealth.

Paul said that desiring wealth was a trap of lust that erred from the faith

So are you seeing drunken services today celebrating The Lord's supper.

The Bible does not address the contemporary church which is 2000+ years later. Which is made up of believers and unbelievers, but take a look at Jesus' address to the churches in Revelation 2 and 3. Each address the type of churches that may exist today.

I see people taking the Lord's supper who don't judge themselves. If we judge ourselves we won't be judged, as Paul said. He said let everyone examine themselves

And how do you know this person is a born again child of God, a believer. Just because they are in a church or even a member of a church. That does not make a person a born again child of God.

I'm not concerned anymore. People think the church is perfectly fine but the Bible paints a different picture.

If you read John 1:31 WATER BAPTISM was given to Israel !!

But Israel was SET SIDE in ACTS 28: 25-28 and there are many other verse , Isa 6:1-18 and many others .

I believe that I have pointed you to 2 Tlm 2:15 , not READ it I see ??

The OLD COVENANT belongs to Israel !!

The NEW COVENANT belongs Israel who will be BORN AGAIN in 1 Jon 5:18 !!

And in EZE , 36:25-38 Israel will be BORN AGAIN :
