Will a platypus do? or will it just be labeled a "monotreme" (i.e., "specialized") and forgotten?

The platypus is right where it belongs, it's a early egg laying mammal. Come on this is one of the best known pratts.

If a crocoduck were found, all of evolutionary biology would be dumped immediately.
I don't believe that one bit.

Not hardly. You'd have to pick a creator god from a LONG list of losers, and that would take years and years of peer reviewing.

It took a few years after my de-conversion from Christianity to find a winning God, but not as long as your suggesting.

The platypus is right where it belongs,
I never said otherwise. I simply said they labeled it a "monotreme" and swept it under the rug.

Should a crocoduck per se be found, I'm sure they would just label it a monotreme, a cryptid, or something that was exposed to radiation, or some other such bologna.

Okay. It's an early egg-laying mammal. Neat-o.

You're focusing on the animal itself, and not paying attention to what I'm saying.

Are you a qualified taxonomist?

Should a crockoduck be found, the theory of evolution would be falsified. It would have to be modified or replaced altogether--by another scientific theory. What would not happen is a rush to embrace a theologically dubious interpretation of Genesis.

Despite all the evidence you have been presented...

Not hardly. You'd have to pick a creator god from a LONG list of losers, and that would take years and years of peer reviewing.
Given that the only creator god who's worshipers have posited a crocoduck, is the god of YECery. You would be almost correct. Its a SHORT list of losers. And the only name on the list is "Jehovah/Yawah".

And I'm Genghis Khan.
Yes it would, and everybody would admit it--and go to work on a new or modified theory. I think you would call that "sweeping it under the rug."

I like to think of myself more as a qualified Lover of God.
Well if it took a few years for a "qualified Lover of God" to find "a winning God," think how long it would take scientists, who would have to peer review each other? not to mention having a knock-down/drag-out over who would get the Nobell Prize.

Scientist aren’t looking for God. That’s not their job. That’s our job as Lovers of God.

well we DID find the duckcroc does that count? :> hehe Nice to see someone use their own stupid strawman back at them hehe :> Surprised no ones tried to disprove evolution using the platypus in ages here.

spoke too soon...hehe :>

It's awful hard to strawman a creationist
attempt against science .

I think you have this backward. The rulers got converted by missionaries and then decided that their subjects would join the christian church. So it's more:

"Here's you new god peasant! I have this priest and his book. Follow his teachings or he'll use the book on you."

At least that's what this product of 50+ generations of forced indoctrination sees.

Convert or die?

You must have the wrong book in mind.
