I care, and philosophy isn't garbage - in particular, science is grounded in philosophy. Some of the problems of modern science come from a disdain for philosophy; the continued uncritical clinging of many scientists to verificationism (logical positivism) and/or Popperian falsification, long after philosophers of science had revealed their flaws, is a case in point.(Who really cares? philosophy is garbage anyway.)
