So, I'm not an atheist, but I am a Lover of God. For me, it's not a matter of if God could orchestrate a global flood, but that clearly it wasn't done as claimed. How do I know? Because there's absolutely no physical evidence in God's own Creation of a Global Biblical Flood. It's like a no-brainier for me.But why would atheists want to make it hard for themselves by effectively arguing that God couldn't do THAT.
So, we got the boot?
I just want you to specify a date.Im happy to defend a young Earth Flood timeline. If you want.
This is not an "atheist" issue. And I am not arguing that "God couldn't do that". I could be a Hindu, and you would still need to specify a date. But why would atheists want to make it hard for themselves by effectively arguing that God couldn't do THAT.
But an event must take place within time. So there must be a date.I dont assert any specific Flood timeline.
You do though.I dont have to.
Given that I am not you. And I am not the person claiming a global flood at some point in the recent past. (recent being within written history).Let me know what specific year, decade, aeon Flood date you think I should defend.
Flattery will get you everywhere! With the exception of my good buddy AV, I feel like young earthers never respond to me. Shrugs*
Death, destruction, and a reboot of the human race.
Strength. Hair. Reading and writing skills. Limited domiciles.
Trust me.
You do NOT want to debate the Noachian Flood with me.
I've done heaps of Flood apologetics debates. They always end in tears.
Time to dig out my 'what happened to the global flood' near my place response for the umpteenth time.
Floods leave sedimentary deposits.
Here is a geological cross section map of the region where I live.
The yellow region labelled Qpe and Qpt is a sedimentary layer composed of coalluvial and alluvial deposits of gravel, sand, clay and silt due to changes in sea levels and glaciation as a result of climate change in the past.
The pinkish region labelled Qvn is a basalt layer.
If the sedimentary layer is the result of a "global flood" then why does it not cover the entire basalt layer?
Trust me.

That's right.Death and destruction come from all sources --
God sent the Flood as a consequence of how badly the world had descended into corruption.TLK Valentine said:... although I'll grant you, if you're a Christian, the buck must eventually stop at God, but what does that have to do with an alleged flood?
Reducing the world's population down to eight people, then having them replenish the world is what I would call a reboot.TLK Valentine said:And what reboot of the human race?
I don't need a biologist to tell me the difference between an ape and a human. Please show me that any biologist considers these traits to be diagnostic of apes.
No. Actually they aren't.Kylie said:By the way, humans are just as hairy as other apes.

Just look at an ape: strong, hairy, no reading and writing skills, limited domiciles.
No. Actually they aren't.
That's right.
Including the Flood.
They were consequences of the Flood.

A few problems with this argument.I'll play this game because I don't expect any flood advocates to.
The basalt came after the flood.
The one you teach your students, when you them the Bible. What flood?
I dont enjoy debating Flood deniers who struggle with the basic fact that two thirds of the earths surface is ALREADY covered with water.
Away. But where did all the extra water actually go?
