This statement of yours is a logical error known as a 'false dichotomy'.

It is true the account is either 'true' or 'false'. What makes your statement a 'false dichotomy' is an alternative you have left out. Whether by intent or ignorance, I do not know, but you left it out. I'll give you one chance to identify the missing alternative, then I'll post it here.

I did give you a chance. You have not replied for whatever reason. So here is the answer and the demonstration of your inability to think.

The first statement: "The account in Genesis is true or it is not" is correct. Any positive assertion must be - at some level - true or false. The second statement - which is only a statement of your opinion as you give no explanation - is no doubt correct in the clause "I believe it is true..." The clause "...it cannot be both ways" is also correct.

But here's the rub and the fallacy. When you make the statement in response to an earlier statement supporting the mainstream 'scientific' explanation, you made the unspoken assumption YOUR understanding of the truth of the account is correct and the only possible understanding. It isn't.

The choice is NOT 'believe or deny', the alternative exists you are incorrect in your interpretation and understanding. Which allows any number of us to fully believe and simultaneously accept a mechanical explanation as well. They are not mutually exclusive alternatives.

I find it interesting no YEC supporter has ever - at least in my presence - even allowed the possibility of their position being wrong. How do you stand on your own infallibility?

Let me say right up front that I am neither YEC or OEC.

If you believe that God used 6 one thousand year days for the creation, fine, God Bless you.

If you believe that God used 6 twenty four days for the creation, fine, God Bless you.

I will not debate either position.

I will stand here and say that the God I know is omnipotient. All powerful.

So for me, it is not impossible for God to literally speak it, and in an instant, it pop into existence.

To me, it is of no importance whether it took six nanoseconds, six seconds, six minutes, six hours, six days, six months, six years, or even six one thousand year days for the creation. For me, the important part of the creation narrative is who did it to begin with.

Lets say also that science is not 100% reliable. It is not perfect. When carbon dating was first introduced, a living leaf from an oak tree was declared to be over 10,000 years old.

Science has helped man immensely in due time. It is still not exact.

One thing science has taught us is that when it comes to dinosaurs, nothing is absolute. Not even the oldest existent bones of so-called man, has been found on the same level as dinosaur bones.

At the time of the deluge, the book of Enoch records that the Antidulvians were 450 ft tall (300 cubits). (cf. Enoch 7:11-14) Do you realize that if we take the book of Enoch just as it was written, they were as tall as the ark Noah built was long.

"The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits," -Gen. 6:15

In all this time, why has science not found the remains of these "giants"?

Over the last century, the "Gap Theory" has greatly fallen out of favor. The existence of dinosaurs cannot be denied there is way too much proof.

The only explaination I can see is either the "Gap Theory" or to one day wait till we stand before God and ask Him.
