  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Anyone know what the christian take on mohammed is? It seems like most christians don't have any thoughts on him.

I know the bible says the only way to god is through Jesus. But I wonder if Mohammed had anything good to say that could help us get closer to god?

So what do the theologists think of this guy? Does he have any signifigance to us as christians? Do we not care? and if not, do we think he has misled all of his followers and was just a pretender? And if that's the case, if one man can fool 1.8 billion muslims into believing hes a profit. What does that say about our prophets, should we be more skeptical about their legitimacy?

I really would appreciate some light on this question.

Thanks

So what do the theologists think of this guy?
Correct word is "theologians"

Does he have any signifigance to us as christians?
Yes, his book says it is ok to kill Christians.

Do we not care?
Only those whose Church has not been affected by Muslims can not care.

But I wonder if Mohammed had anything good to say that could help us get closer to god?
Nope.

Anyone know what the christian take on mohammed is?
Some see him as a legitimate founder of a religion. I see him as a false prophet because he did suffer from epilepsy and delusions.

He's a false prophet, teaches a false gospel. None of that is a help. If you examine it, Islam is a religion of the law, the Gospel is missing. You labor, performing your works and you hope that you are good enough to earn your salvation.

As a christian, you should know that the law doesn't save, it condemns.

It is no help to anyone to cover up the Gospel and give only law as the way to God.

How did it catch on. Well, man has a love of being pious and thinking he is good. So law has a great appeal. You will even see Christians freed from the law insist on being given a law to live by or trying to put others under a law.

And Islam happened to see military success. Fanaticism might not get you to heaven, but it does tend to give some success in this world.

And there has grown up a whole set of supernatural myths around the whole thing. One you often hear is that every copy of the Quran in Arabic is exactly the same, hence proof that God preserves it. Major problem is that is clearly untrue.

Of course that works in our favor and as we come in contact with Muslims who are governed by their myths, if you can show them the untruth of those myths often their whole system kind of comes tumbling down. Much like a christian fundamentalist who learns that a couple of places in his copy of the KJV aren't perfect.

This is my opinion because I`m not a theologist.

I have read the Quran and what I could see in the Quran was it only talking about punishment nothing about a loving God.I fealt that wasn`t correct

He was a prophet like Jesus.

Muhammed was nothing like the Messiah at all.

The Messiah didn't kill people for sex, power and money.

The Messiah didn't slaughter thousands of innocent Jews.

The Messiah wasn't a paedophile...

I could go on, but I think most people get the idea.

Muhammed came on the scene supposedly preaching a new message from God. Everyone was (and still is) told by God in the New Testament that we have all that we need in order to live the Godly life.

Seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. (2Pet.1:3) 66 A.D.
