Growing up, I would have to say the best game was Pirates!. I used to spend hours cruising about the Caribbean with a nice little detachment of frigates harassing English, French, and Dutch merchants. I can't wait until the re-release of Pirates! in October of this year. :)

As for the "best game," I would have to put my vote on the Thief series. The architecture was very appeasing, it was a good engine and the AI would actually react if you whacked their buddy and not just step over the body.

Was that any good.

I can't really make up my mind between Metroid Prime and Final Fantasy VII. I really think that MP is the most technically and artistically brilliant game I've ever played, but sometimes I still end up enjoying FFVII better.

If I had to pick one: FFVII

On NES? Duck Hunt owns.

SNES: FF6(FF3US), Chrono Trigger, Seiken Densetsu 3 (the sequel to Secret of Mana, which is Seiken Densetsu 2), Tactics Ogre, Front Mission, Star Ocean, Tales of Phantasia (wow... so many games that were never released in America... we missed out), Megaman X series, Zelda: A Link to the Past... if I had to choose one... I couldn't. FF6 and/or Star Ocean, probably.

N64: Super Smash Bros., hands down.

PS1: Suikoden 1 and 2, FF7, FF Tactics, Star Ocean 2, Chrono Cross, Megaman X series... the list goes on.

PS2: I dunno yet. All the games I like are arcade ports anyhow. And the RPGs don't have that addicting quality like previous years. Too much "look at the graphics we make!"

I was thinking about putting it--it's my favorite SNES game probably. Metroid Prime is better though :D

Hm... I have a strong nostalgic attachment to Mario 3; spent a summer playing it. I know it better than anyone should know a video game.

FFVII has its merits, too. It was my first RPG, the music is amazing, the graphics were great when they came out, the storyline's good, too. And I love the characters. It's just a great, fun game, if a little too easy.

Tetris. I own at tetris. I've gotten to level 212 before. I usually start at level 15 or so, because the single digit levels are too slow.

Smash Bros for 64 is awesome. Great party game, then someone gets the hammer, and people go flying.

Bomberman's another great party game.

I've heard FFVI is great, but haven't played it. I'm working on FFIV, and it's sort of kicking my *** right now. But it's much fun.

Sim City, original rocked my world way back when. So did Myst.

My first RPG was Zork.:p

I'd have to say that my favorite video game ever is Fallout (and Fallout 2).

My favorite 2 player game? Pong. I'm very serious. Try playing any other game with someone after a 26 of rum....each.:D

The game that I have the fondest memories is Lunar: The Silver Star on the SegaCD. The PSX version also rocks.

BTW, I dare anyone to try and beat me at Street Fighter 2. You won't win unless I let you. :priest:

I would have to say, my All-time favorite, the game/series that really got me into gaming was Richard Garriot's Ultima series back when I was using a Commodore 64, LOL.

The Ultima series is what drew me to Ultima Online in 1997, not so much because it was online, but because it was "Ultima".. Britannia.. Lord British, etc :D
