I feel I m led to this question today...I m told by a lot churches, but not really understand..

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Revival means just that. Revive something that is weak or dieing, like Christians who haven't read the Bible in years or attended a "Bible-teaching" church or study group. These "lukewarm" Christains still have Jesus as Savior (because He will never leave nor forsake them), but they've fallen away for any number of reason, like life-challenges, family issues, various problems and circumstances that pull our attention away from God. In essence, revival "recharges" Christains by reminding them who they belong to and their need to read God's word and seek out a Bible-teaching ministry.
I use to attend tent revivals when they came into my area. They were AMAZING! At that time I wasn't a Christian, but I heard the word of God and accepted it. So it doesn't only benefit Christians, because non-Christains can find Jesus the Christ and become "born again" believers.

Tent revivals are still active today in many modern countries but are very popular in Africa where some churches have permanent tents erected.
We're continually praying for revival because so many have fallen away from TRUE worship and the Body of Christ needs to be ONE, not separate denominational parts of a whole.
We need to do "follow-up" on those who accept Christ at the big stadium crusades.
God, please help us to see everyone and everything through Your eyes and to love everyone as You do - unconditionally. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Tent revival is really a small 4HP motor that charges up the batteries of lukewarm Chrisitans, and supercharges the batteries of mature Christians.
Now the way they use the word "revival" is in a different way and meaning.
Revival is when the power of our Almighty God stirs the people into transformation, when the people have had enought of lollypop Christianity and step out in power and authority in our Lord Jesus Christ's Name.
One revival comes to mind when a latin American country had had enough of the drug lords in their area. One pastor stood up to be counted, and he led an all out spiritual attack against the drug lords.
Thousands and thousands of Christians stood up with him, and they gathered in the large football stadium and all PRAYED, bound the SPIRITS.
Sadly, the pastor became a threat to the drug lords and he was assaninated outside of his church, which then made the people pray even harder and revival began in that area.
Guess what? Yep, the drug lords were squashed and all sent to jail, and peace came upon that area. Now that's revival, that's when Christians stand up and be counted, and be CHRISTIANS, not goats milling around going through the motions of being a Christian.
