I guess it is arguable that a massive and unnecessary war, with all the suffering that continues to this day, has played a part in the fracturing of America.Smart agitators remain behind the scenes. Not everyone can lead a nation into years of wars in order to change a government in order to have more favourable outcomes on pipeline projects.
It started in the 90s with Newt Gingrich
Maybe the group you hung out with but the guys I worked with at white sands who my age didn't see politics like that. You might be a little older than me but dude take a chill pill. I didn't listen to talk radio because I was too busy coaching sports. I'm going off my memory of the people I interacted with. I don't speak for you so quit being defensive. I can't even mention Hillary without you blowing a gasket.Yes we were. I listened to Limbaugh, Savage and all the other right-wing radio talking heads every day, and they polarized the country through radio waves, and all of them were out to get Clinton.
Remember the dittoheads?
Who is we? You say that as if you speak for others.
BTW the first talk radio I listened to was Hannity and Colmes because I liked hearing opposing views. Prolly 2005Yes we were. Part of the problem in US elections is that several groups believe that they have God on their side. They believe that that theirs is the only correct interpretation of God's Will, and that they have every right to impose that interpretation on the everyone through state actions (under their control, of course). That's not how US presidental elections work.
Free from what would be the question.
There are many issues that are polarizing the western world. It's by design.I stopped myself from posting this opinion in another thread because I'm curious about what Americans in America think is pulling America apart.
I am 1000% convinced that the left and the right do NOT agree on what that is. As I'm outside of it, I have my own opinions on both groups. But from SPECIFICALLY where you sit, what do you think is causing the slow melting of America's standing.
My thoughts?
Right
Mass migration
DQSH/LGBTQ issues
CRT
Economic crisis (which isn't actually an ECONOMIC crisis...it's a distribution of wealth crisis as the rich get richer and the middle and poor get left behind....still)
Left
Greed/Corporate exploitation
Racism
The removal of rights for certain classes of people
Republican degradation of national institutions.
But really, what do you guys think.

That's a link to a boring pdf that indicates that it is the extremism that's tearing America apart. Seems boring and, frankly, the "Extreme left" in America? I'm curious who that would include....
The problem is that everyone has an opinion and nobody thinks that the other guy is allowed to have his. If people don't agree to your opinion.... then the names and accusations fly.Part of the problem in US elections is that several groups believe that they have God on their side. I never liked Hillary Clinton, not even when she was First Lady. You blame Clinton too. Good to know.
Yes, chaos as a strategy goes back to Gingritch. But, in the end, he worked within the system. GHe wanted changes. He didn't want to tear the republic and give the power to a populist leader. It started in the 90s with Newt Gingrich.
How else was "chaos as a strategy" going to end? The essence of chaos is that it's undirected and uncontrolled.Yes, chaos as a strategy goes back to Gingritch. Donald TrumpI stopped myself from posting this opinion in another thread because I'm curious about what Americans in America think is pulling America apart.
I'm ignorant about Chaos Theory in science and just now read a little on the internet. How was it used in politics by Newt? ThxHow else was "chaos as a strategy" going to end? The essence of chaos is that it's undirected and uncontrolled.
He or any other candidate can have no effect upon people other than what they give to themselves. People get stirred up over the stupidest things and it is their own fault.Donald Trump
But it did end. There were changes. The White House made compromises. And within a very few years Gingritch was replaced. How else was "chaos as a strategy" going to end? The essence of chaos is that it's undirected and uncontrolled.
I like Teddy. He's my favorite president. But he did do that. You mean like Teddy Roosevelt?
But he made permanent negative changes in reducing the ability of Republicans and Democrats to come to compromises in Congress. But it did end. There were changes. The White House made compromises. And within a very few years Gingritch was replaced.
I remember Newt merely taking Bill Clinton's campaign promises (3 strikes, balanced budget, etc) ,and making them into legislation for him to sign. Then Clinton, being the expert politician he was, took credit for the success, and was re elected.Yes, chaos as a strategy goes back to Gingritch. But, in the end, he worked within the system. It's been said that it is curious that God always seems to hate exactly the same people his followers do. At least in certain formulations of Christianity.Part of the problem in US elections is that several groups believe that they have God on their side. They believe that that theirs is the only correct interpretation of God's Will, and that they have every right to impose that interpretation on the everyone through state actions (under their control, of course).
