What is most important principle about sanctification?

I have considered this question many times but have never really come up with an answer. For every time I consider it I immediately think of several things that are really important to know. So I figured I ask to get a conses on the subject. Why? I want to know what would be the first thing to teach a new beleiver or an old believer about sanctification. I appreciate your responses.

Sanctification is done with the Holy Spirit. It means to make holy or separated from the evil world and separated unto the only Holy God. The Bible say's only God is holy therefore it is to be like God. Holy has the idea of "alienness" because there is nothing like it in this world. If you want to be sanctified you will appear to be a freak compared to everyone else who is perishing. You will be different because only God is holy.

That its New Testament revelation should be considered and studied in three divisions: positional, progressive, and ultimate. Without this understanding no person is prepared to see or teach the doctrine's truth.
