Like the famous soup nazi epi. All the character say funny things. But the concept of a soup chef acting like a weird dictator was boring.
There was actually a soup Nazi in New York, the whole story is based on something real. Many things in Seinfeld are. I also think that the closer you live to NY the more things you will "get."

To each his own.
Amen!

the funny is different from most sitcoms. a show like friends, some people usually laugh out loud spontaneously at punchline-type jokes. seinfelds a little different. i'm not going to be a snob and say seinfeld comedy is better, it is just different.

It's funny how so many Seinfeld-ism's have become part of our everyday language. When my daughter was a toddler, my husband and I would say "No ___(insert food) for you" in the Soup Nazi voice all the time and we would just crack up at ourselves. If we said it in front of other people they would either say "huh?", or start talking in the Soup Nazi voice. I miss Seinfeld.. . . good times, good times.

haha yeah, it does become part of your language. My family and I joke about it all the time. Anytime anyone says something off the wall to me, I always push them and say "get out!" and we always say "not that theres anything wrong with that."

The best part about Seinfeld is that you can relate to the situations and characters. They only think about themselves and always screw things up by not shuting up. That's why I like the show. The situations are the type that you see in your every day life. Another show that does the same is South Park. It also takes real life storys and tells the slap you in the face truth. Makes you relize what really goes on in the world.

I'll be the snob and say its better. Other comedies make you laugh with cliched jokes. Seinfeld makes you laugh by making fun of cliched jokes.

Also, every Seinfeld episode has this genius characteristic of tying everything together in a hilarious way right at the end. Other shows have a few characters with unrelated sub-plots, Seinfeld starts with seemingly unrelated character sub-plots and brings them together in perfect "harmony" right at the end. Sometimes you can call it, and you laugh in anticipation of whats going to happen, other times it hits you out of nowhere and you break into hysterical laughter.

I'm not one to argue about tastes, if you do not like it, thats fine, but I recognize that the writing of Seinfeld is far superior to many other comedies. It might not be everyone's style, but it is quality. Just as I really can't stand to listen to country music, but there are some excellent songs, even though I dont particularly enjoy them.

hahahah I love seinfield. Cracks me up.
I love the man hands one. Or the one where they lost their car in the underground parking. Or probally my fav one of all. Was when Kramer got those new shoes that made him walk funny, and then he had a cavity filled and whatnot so his mouth was frozen and they thought he was handicapped and invited him to the big ball thing.... anyways I laughed so hard.

For the longest time, I had George's answering maching jingle on my cell voice mail to annoy all my friends. Most of them wouldnt even listen through it to leave me a message hahahaha ahhh I miss that

Jimmy holds grudges, Kramer! Jimmy won't forget this Kramer!!

Jimmy loves the Velvet Fog!

I love the scene in that where George tries to demonstrate the powers of the jumping shoes, and the people at the store walk away from him after 2 attempts!

LOL!
