Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

God be with you.

It's just that different forums have different purposes. You might get what you're looking for in General Theology, or perhaps Spiritual Development or Devotions?

You can repost your thread in one of those if you like.

Dear Anastasia: What can I say? You were/ are right, nobody can find us here. I do trust the Father most glorious is continuing to bless you and yours out of your socks!

From Him, through Him, to Him

God is indeed very merciful, and I thank Him for it.

I wouldn't say "nobody" finds your thread, but if it's outside the purpose of a particular forum, those who see it may have nothing to say on the particular topic that would fit within forum rules. TT is a bit more strict than other theology forums. That's why the note to read the SOP appears in red on this forum.

But posting in the right area makes things easier for volunteers and staff, and better ensures members get the kind of discussion they are looking for.

God be with you!

Dear Anastasia: I do appreciate your kind alert. I am only spending about 12 hours a day now on forums & may find time to expand my weary life (with Mrs. F.L. approval). For the moment let's leave the initial post here & continue to trust our God to lead who He will to our hidden thread.

God is indeed merciful, His mercy & love goes beyond beyond into exceeding! May His exceeding love & grace in the Lord Jesus Christ be yours today!

This is pretty good. As a Catholic I would agree! This is one way we describe the purifying fires of purgatory which is Christ himself as our God us a consuming fire!.

Dear Athanasias: One of my sons has an auto mechanic who is on the cutting edge of his profession. He also is a devout Catholic with a capital "D". The last time we met him was in a social environment (which I attempt to avoid). Instead of greeting me with the usual niceties, he proclaimed "I love Jesus Christ". I tell you this: any person that declares such a glorious proclamation, I love!

We are all the broken wrecks of sin. The purpose of God has an objective that involves a process of transformation. It begins with being born anew, and cascades into manifold operations of His love and grace and glory. He will indeed purify each of us to walk in fellowship with Him. The entire process must happen, and will happen!

Thanks for stopping in to our hidden little corner of Christian forums & may His gracious Presence be with you and yours.

It's your thread so I was trying to do you the courtesy of allowing the sort of discussion you had in mind, within the guidelines of the forum.

Dear Anastasia: this link has hardly been robust. (LOL) I trust you and yours are continuing to be grasped by His great love & grace. Our Lord is so beyond me! Over 60 years have elapsed from that fateful day in 1957 when for the very first time in my young life I knew with absolute assurance He wanted me for Himself. I love Him very much!

The Divine Fire

The Divine Fire

THE OPERATION OF THE DIVINE FIRE DEPENDS ON WHAT IT OPERATES ON.

This is one of the most marked peculiarities of common fire. It scatters water; it melts wax; it destroys wood; it hardens clay; it purifies metal. It makes silver valuable; it makes dross worthless. And so with the Divine fire. The apostle dwells on its testing power (1 Corinthians 3:13); but here its actual moral effect on differing characters is indicated. Take classes of character in Malachi's time, and show the different effects which Divine dealings had upon them. Take types of character now, and show how Divine dealings soften or harden.

THE DIVINE FIRE IS DESTRUCTIVE OF THE FORMS OF THINGS, NOT OF THINGS.

Science now explains that common fire destroys nothing; it only Changes the forms and relations of things. When the state of the wicked is irremediable by any existing moral forces, then their form and relation must be changed. As in the time of the Flood, humanity had to be put in new conditions. God's fire destructions always begin a new regime. - R.T.

Dear Firestorm: The Lord Jesus Christ is the One who leads us into a union with the Living God described as being saved "to the uttermost". If that does not thrill you & I, methinks we may need a touch more of His glorious Presence! To you and yours, and our brothers in the Isles, we await further igniting, leading to a blaze!

Dear bro. being broke has a wonderful feel to it. Enjoy!

Amen to the Union FL- we are not isolated and separate. Descartes was wrong.
The conduit that joins us is the Spirit himself. We are one.

I shall add - Fire gives Light. I have seen that Glory and it fills the whole Earth. It shines in the darkness. Nothing is hidden in the light - God knows our thoughts and our innermost being

It's nice to see the flame still burns in you

On your Pilgrimage - what would you say are your top five lessons you've learned that you would pass on to other believers?

Dear FIRESTORM: Here we are on this remote island of Christian Forums posting to one another. Seldom has anyone asked me such a critical line of thought. I will give only 1 of the top 5 (for the present).

#1. "But God". Yes, if the Living One does not open our pathway to Himself, all is a futile attempt on our part. If He does not reach out and grasp us by the Spirit, we labour in vain.

Linked with that Reach of His, is the hunger that He places within those destined to be His, as the "especially" of His grace. As a young lad of 12, sitting with my wonderful parents in a major Church denomination in our land, I just knew beyond any shadow of doubt, He was, and until the great longing in my heart and spirit were quenched, I would never be!

Brother, lets just leave it there for now. In His great love & grace & still burning, F.L.

Dear FIRESTORM: I now know what I want to list in the top 5. On this link we will pursue my ongoing list. Why don't you prepare your list, and we will compare notes. You never know, somebody else may show up on our lonely isle of C.F. who would like to chime in. If not we will sing to one another.

Dear FIRESTORM: Good morning British Isles. A new Day is breaking upon us all.

#1. "But God".

#2. Deep hunger for Him.

#3. Humility of spirit.

#4. Surround yourself with quality.

#5. Present continuous experience in/with Him.

Humility of spirit

This is closely linked with #4, but for today "humility of spirit".

"The true way to be humble is not to stoop until you are smaller than yourself but to stand at your real height against some higher nature that will show you what the real smallness of your greatest greatness is.” -Philips Brooks-

This to me sums up exactly how easy it is! Stand at your real height in the Presence of God (if you dare), and in the presence of individuals who know more than I have ever learned.

The walk with Him is an adventure into unknown territory that will take each of us into the One who "saves to the uttermost". Each experience is unique & tailored to bring dust & Divinity into complete alignment. There are times our frail faith falls far short, but in those moments #1 is the support.

This link we are on, FIRESTORM, is a subject dear to me, and in union with your name most likely dear to you. Later in the list we will look at #4, & a man of God who penned 30 unspoken sermons, one of which is The Consuming Fire.

My brother, thank you for your patience & may He expand all of us in Him!

Dear FIRESTORM: I trust you have had a wonderful day. To continue with #4= Surround yourself with quality.

My wife & I met in a little Gospel church where for the very first day I knew God loved me & would take me to Himself. He did & what a journey it has been.

We later became a part of a fellowship of brethren from various quarters who eclipsed anything we could imagine in this mighty God of ours. One of those brethren was a man of apostle caliber. He spoke in a series of meetings on 1 single verse of Scripture for over 1 hr. each evening & at the end said, "Well let's just leave it there for now". I sat there and thought, this is the God I must follow. This brother was from Scotland, not that it matters, but I knew deep within, my days for mediocrity were ended.

Well, brother, we are a part of a fellowship of the Heavens joined with quality here & now, & with a vast company of those who have advanced to Glory.

From Him, through Him, for Him

Dear FIRESTORM: My brother thank you for asking a question I have never encountered in the many years posting. It has made me reach into the foundations of my walk with Him. I know the response may be a mite more exhausting than you were desiring, but alas, F.L. has enjoyed the opportunity.

At the close of my final 5 lessons, will be an added something to hide down here with the original fire OP.

#5 A present continuous experience in Him.

The word in koine Greek describes an experience that is past, present, and future all wrapped up in "be being". Only the Source of our Life in this wonderful Realm of His, can bring about an experience that is to the uttermost edge of experience. That experience is what is penned in Scripture as being "saved to the uttermost"!

A scientist recently focused on one single dot he was drawn to in the vast heavens of millions of stars and galaxies. Do you know what he found? A whole world of more stars & galaxies!

I know not how many "stars" have been encountered in my walk with the Glorious One to date. I do know it has "dots" that point to great dimensions of further experience in His vastness.

May the Lord of Glory bless you and yours & the Household of faith of whom we are a small part!

Dr Livingstone I presume

I shall read your most important lessons with interest & thoughtfully review them & have a chat.
In the meantime - I shall gather my list.

I somehow think I have restricted myself by asking for just five - there are so many when you start to think about them. There's probably a whole lot more to come too so I list the most memorable one's that have caused the biggest turning points or made the most impact.

I'll start of with number 1 and review the others when I get some free time.

NUMBER UNO

BE FILLED WITH FIRE

I'm talking the unforgettable fire of the Baptism of the Spirit via the laying on of hands. Without this event I would have had my doubts in the darkest moments of my Christian Walk. This is power from on High. I saw the Glory of the Lord - it illuminated the darkness of my soul like a search light in the night sky reaching up to the clouds. The fire burned - it was a living flame, moving with life and purpose. The presence surrounded me. This was my advance deposit - the guarantee of my spiritual inheritance from God himself.
