  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This is true. When I was young I barely gave a thought to the weather. Nowadays I feel it somehow matters, although I can't intellectually analyze why it should. Reminds me of the lines from that Randy Travis song:

As long as old men sit and talk about the weather​
As long as old women sit and talk about old men​

Still wondering, maybe it's my tv?
I'm thinking the cats are going to the bathroom in the corner where i can't find it without tearing the room apart.. If so, hot or not their outside from now on or at least til it gets cleaned up

Yeah. I feel much more calm than I was when I was younger. I think I've always been a little immature for my age.. and many people experience it sooner.. but it's nice.

Currently I'm trying to work a lot on myself... question previous thought patterns... I feel like age has really helped me do this. All you can really do.. is try to be better.

I'm not sure old age lets us off the hook for cultivating virtue. I suspect one never stops being presented with new situations in which to learn to love those around us...

Personally, I just think dreams are mostly gibberish. I don't put much stock in them revealing my subconscious or whatever. Even if my mind is locking onto something, I don't think it has any deep message behind it. I'm just a guy afraid of bugs.
