This definition of "kind" seems to pose a particular problem for the biblical account of Noah's ark. You see, there are on the order of 10 million terrestrial species on the Earth.
Does that 10 million number include both the above-ground and below-ground mosquitos in London? Or do we count those as one species because they hadn't "speciated" at the time of Noah? Just curious, since it would save some space on the ark if the latter were true.
