WAS RESEARCHING FOR A TOPIC ON ANOTHER FORUM AND WAS DIGGING IN A COMMENTARY WHEN I CAME ACROSS THE WORD PSALMODY. PSALM, MELODY, PSALMODY. I LIKE PSALMS AND MUSIC, AND FELL IN LOVE WITH THE WORD.
To JohnTheLutheran: Are you a firefighter? I ask because of your character, how it is dressed. I, my husband, son, and brother-in-law, are all firefighters, too!
PSALMODY:wave:

I have been called that ever since I can remember. Most people I know know me as Big Dave. When I was in high school I had a 59 Plymoth Belvedere with push button drive and three foot fins. It was an orange red color and called it the tomato wagon. Some folks started calling me tomato and that car was history.

Mine is from a song by Gary and the Pacemakers called "Ferry 'Cross the Mersey". To me, the song is about the search for belonging.

Life goes on day after day
Hearts torn in every way
So ferry 'cross the Mersey
'Cause this land's the place I love...
And here I'll stay.

People, they rush everywhere...
Each with their own secret care..
So ferry 'cross the Mersey...
And always take me there,
The place I love.

People around every corner
They seem to smile and say...
"We don't care what your name is, boy--
"We'll never turn you away."

So I'll continue to say...
"Here I always will stay."
So ferry 'cross the Mersey..
'Cause this land's the place I love..
And here I'll stay.

well on my mind this morning was very much my user name, plain old tinka. I so wanted a good name but all the ones I chose were taken, so I was resorted to choosing one of my pets names , tinka my cat,

I began today by asking God why tinka?
Of course the reply was , whats wrong with it?
well Lord I said it dont mean anything except that maybe people might think I am a naughty girl, a tinka.
I was then thinking of the film Bridget Jones Diary, the part were the custon man in the airport took out a large pair of bloomers and asked her are these yours, her reply , yes!!!!!!!!!! but not my favourite pair. heeeeeeeheeeeeeeeeeeee
well thats how I felt about my user name, not really the one I wanted.

After a short pause God spoke to me and said tinka a good name and heres why.

T. Truth
I. Inspiration
N. Newness
K. Knowledge
A. Actions

TINKA

In Truth I shall walk
Delivered, set free
My price for sin
Has been paid on Calvary

Inspiration wells up
from the depths of my soul
To glorify God
My desire, my goal

Theres Newness of life
My old self has gone
Joined by the Spirit
To the Father and Son

In Knowledge I'll grow
As to God I do yield
My strength, my tower
My fortress, my shield

The Actions I take
Signs and wonders will follow
Helping the lost
Be relieved of their sorrow

No more will I ask
That why question again
For TINKA I think
Is a beautiful name

My name on Allpoetry.com is NeferMaatNetjer, which is Middle Egyptian for "good is the truth of God". I decided not to use that name here because Egyptians are not exactly the good guys in the bible, so I chose Historygeek, because, let's face it, that's exactly what I am.
