The nickname I originally started using on message boards was "Midnight Rider" from an Allman Brother's song, then I shortened it to Midnite, then changed the "i"s to "y"s as sort of a tribute to my favorite band Lynyrd Skynyrd. And also cause few other people spell it that way.

My name came from a home video of when I was little. It was halloween and I was dressed up as Ariel and my sister was Sleeping Beauty and I walk out and go "You're not the REAL sleeping beauty!" and she goes "I know. And you're not the real Ariel." I go "Yeah I am.. I'm NOT a human!"

And that is how I've continued to live my life

"Gott Mit Uns" God with us in German . Was a Prussian Order that was instituted in 1861 and was used by Roman and Byzantine soldiers long before that. It was used as the motto for the German army during the first world war. then when the country of Germany came under the rule of the Nazi's it was kept for the motto of the German army and It has been tainted by that association.

I use it to show that no matter how long something that is good and positive stands (in its case almost 80 years in Germany) it only takes a few short years to ruin it with evil.

I started a community web site for teen orphans and orphans who've grown up. Being an orphan myself, I wanted to offer a place where people from all over Europe and the world could come and share their experiences. The name of the site is called Orphan Project and that's where my screen name comes from.

My name comes from a play on Red Shift, which is a term related to the shift in visible light in a heavy gravity well. I chose it in 2006 when I started an astronomy outreach program called nightShifted Astronomy. Now my blog is called nightShifted Exploratory and focuses on Christian and various other topics.

God Bless,
Wesley

Mine comes from lyrics by The Devil Wears Prada, a song called "This Song Is Called". I got it from the part "This I beg of You, build me, brick upon brick". I take it as saying to God, you build me how You want me to be, every piece and facet, from the bottom up.

Mine was just a spur of the moment thought when I signed up for the (then) SciFi Channel forum about the new series Tremors (which aired in 2003). My favorite character from the movies by the same name was Burt and Burt was a survivalist and gun enthusiast (and provided lots of the humor in the movies). So when I needed a name for the forum, I figured what the heck, I'm a member of the NRA and I wanted it known I was a female fan of the show, and that's how my 'screen name' was born. I figured I'd change it when something more creative came along but it ended up sticking.

Mine demonstrates how my last name (Neve) is pronounced (nee vee, as opposed to nev, or neev). When I was in 7th grade I thought of a memory aid for people to pronounce it correctly. I'd lift up my knee and make kind of a "V" shape next to it with my index and middle fingers. So when I lift my knee and put the "V" next to it, it looks like "knee-v".
