I think the OP has a point. Marriage will bring holiness through the sacrifice husbands make for their wives. Marriage is about giving, not some selfish grab for 'happiness'. This false expectation of happiness in marriage is why so many marriages end in divorce today.

There are some tangible benefits in marriage that may bring happiness, but that is more a byproduct of couples giving of themselves to eachother than the purpose of marriage.

Only GOD is holy, Marriage and other things are for us to grow to better people. We all have lessons in life, good and bad. But I don't believe people can be holy, since we can feel emotions like hate, jealously and anger. I feel marriage can make us happy, and for us to grow to be better people.
