  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have a few prayer requests, if y'all don't mind

The first is concerning a coworker and friend of mine. We were talking and she told me that she's having an affair with two different guys. She was a little worried because she thinks her husband is beginning to catch on. so very sad - and they have two kids - can't imagine what it's probably doing to them... So, if you could keep that situation in your prayers. She's not a believer, but she tends to want to talk to me a lot about such things, so I'm not sure what God is doing in her life as of now, but it's something I reckon.

And the second is about my brother in law...I probably sound like a broken record...but he recently sent me two emails - one on Daniel and how it points to the Watchtower (yeah, okay)...and another bashing all Bible translations except NWT - and I haven't responded - I'm not sure what to say...I've been praying about - and everytime I do, or even think about it ..Jeremiah 20:9 pops in my head - not sure what that means exactly, though I can guess I suppose ^_^ But anyway, if you would just pray that God would give me wisdom and patience, and that anything I say to my bil would be His words and not mine...and for my brother in law, obviously...he's just so....brainwashed :(

I have a few requests:

My mom's coworker had surgery like a month ago and she's still in a great deal of pain and on strong pain meds. Well, she went to the doctor this past Thursday and my mom emailed her to see how things went and she wrote back saying she was too upset to go into detail but she did say that if the pain didn't subside in two weeks then they're gonna do a test on her colon. My mom went to see her after work and took her a card and flowers just to see if she was okay and for support. She couldn't have gotten good news... They must have told her something because she said she was doing research on something but we still don't know any details. Just please pray for her. Thanks.

The second thing is one of my mom's students mom's has cancer and he's taking really hard. He's just scared she's gonna pass away while he's at school and he's doing everything in his power not to go to school. It's just a rough situation. So just pray for him and his mom.

The third request is for myself. I don't want to go in details right now but I could use some prayer. Thanks so much.

Just an update: God really helped us out through his people, and we were able to pay for the funeral. The Lord helped us raise over $4000 in 6 days, and I'm still amazed. The funeral was yesterday, and it was really difficult for mom, and I ask that y'all continue to pray for her.

And I just wanted to thank God, I got hired to work in the school library on Thursday! Yay! I'm employable!!! ^_^

I actually have a few requests now :sorry:

My mentor just sent me like, the sweetest email ever ^_^...and in it she asked me if I would pray about applying for a student leadership position for Cru, which would include some stuff during the Cru meetings and then leading Bible studies....I felt a little tug on my heart when they were talking about it at the meeting Thursday, but didn't pay much attention, and then my mentor goes and says what she does and asks me to pray about it, so yeah..here I am ^_^

and she asked me to pray about the spring and summer missions trips as well...and I've never gotten an opportunity to do anything like that....

so ....yeah....I know these aren't like ...huge issues, but if you remember, I would SO appreciate prayer for guidance and what have you for these :)
