  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

i need a prayer for my cat Sally. she's going to the vet tomorrow. the lady at the vet's office thinks it could be a tumor from my description. i pray it isn't.

also, my education search/work search has been a trainwreck thus far and i'm getting impatient as well as frustrated. any prayers would be greatly appreciated. thank you and God bless.

update: Sally DOESN'T have a tumor or feline leukemia!! yay!!! Praise God! She's getting spayed in the morning so hopefully everything goes okay.

Now...there is a serious prayer need for a coworker of mine's mother. She is 83 and in bad health and currently in the hospital in an unstable situation. A long email he sent to his family and copied to our boss mentions her losing blood among other things. She's been in bad health for awhile and the coworker has been her primary caregiver. Even though he's nearly lost her several times in the last year, he's still pretty upset and stressed. I just want to lift him and his family and especially his mother up.

I have two- One of my parent's best friends is battling cancer. She had it about 2 or 3 years ago and it went into remission. But it's back now and has spread to her spine, liver, and maybe brain . It is just not looking good for her. She is catholic, but i don't know if she is a believer. She was going to go meet with a priest to pray for her- her little girl (now grownup) used to have a childhood disease and was dying ; this priest prayed for her and she was healed. Please pray for this woman, to recieve healing if that is God's will, and to recieve the truth of Christ and salvation into her heart if she has not done so. And pray for her family, it's just a sad time for them. Her name is Hilda. My sweet parents are so worried for her and her husband.


The next one is my foot again. It seemed healed, but has just started swelling again this past week. It's aching. I went to a new doctor. He says i may have reinjured it. He is sending me for more x-rays and a bone scan. Please pray that they can find out what is wrong and know how to treat it so that my foot will heal.

I would really appreciate prayer for my dad. He started peeing blood on Monday, went to the doctor and was told it was a urinary tract infection. He got some meds and seemed to be doing better by Monday night and yesterday. My sister told me this morning he started peeing blood again. Well...he has hernias he's never dealt with and my sister is wondering if a hernia has burst. She noticed the area on his stomach where they are looked different this morning. I really hope and pray he seeks out another doctor/second opinion/more tests and finds out what's really going on. I'm really worried about him. Thanks!

Yesterday, I had what seems to be a very promising lead in finding a job. The hiring manager at one of the local theaters spoke with me directly, and I was given an I-9 tax form with the application (which I take as a good sign). The hiring manager also gave me his name and told me that when I turn the application in, I should have the receiver set the application aside for him by name.

Today, I'm going to be turning that application in, and I'm praying to arrange an interview this morning. Please pray that all goes well.

My friend is having a spot of trouble with drugs to the point where he wrecked his car, dropped out of college, and is now being evicted from our mutual friends house. More than just the drugs, he has lost his way entirely. He is inconsiderate and lazy and more than that, addicted to substances which increase those things.

I am not asking for you to pray that his life gets better. I am asking that you pray that he finds Christ and finds truth and uses that strength to better his life.

I have a job interview tomorrow at 1:00pm. Just pray all goes well with it.

Also, one of my mom's friends got accidentally caught up in a horrible situation at her work and has been threatened to the point where police circle her house about every hour and she's scared to even go outside. Due to health problems she can't drive for a month and my mom is having to take her to the doctor this Friday. Just pray for protection for my mom and her friend. Pray my mom doesn't get caught up in the middle of it.
