Well, to answer your question, it depends. There are some differences. Opera singers are trained to be able to sing without artificial amplification (no mikes). And opera singers don't belt. (I lost my ability to do that when I was 17--my voice changed). But the basics of singing are still the same. Ability to interpret music dramatically and to produce a beautiful sound, are paramount in both styles.Kilted Stranger said:cooo-el!
