This is a very good question...I'm studying to major in Industrial Engineering but now I'm totally confused...
I've been praying for God to reveal his will for me in my life, but it He hasn't fully done it yet. My doubts became really strong after missionaries that my church support visited us, and shortly after that my church held a Missions Conference...
This 3 day conference really touched my heart...Sometimes I really think God has called me to be a missionary but then I start thinking that he allowed me to go to college and that maybe something else is my calling.
All I know now is that I love the work missionaries do and that it is really moving my heart...But I also think about college and everything I've accomplished so far and it's kind of hard to just make a decision at this time...
I pray for God to reveal his will to me because I know that regardless what I think my goals are, his plans for me are much bigger.

God Bless

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Well i started studying Sport Science at uni this year but i have made a very different decision for my direction next year. As of next year i will be attending bible college studying to become a minister. I feel the Lord leading me to take up Sports ministry for a few years to get experience in ministry before eventually taking ministry on in a fulltime role leading a church. I dont know how many years i will be in sports ministry, whether ill be in another form of ministry also but i do know God has a job for me at a church in the future, and i feel it will be reviving a diminishing church, just what i feel through prayer God has in store for me.

I'm kinda troubled by reading that people think you have to work at a church to do ministry. I firmly feel that God placed me at Ford (where I draw what cars will look like in the future) so that I can fellowship and disciple other Christians there while also sharing his love with my lost co-workers. This is my ministry.

I also lead the student prayer ministry for the youth group at my church while being the sixth grade guys small group leader. But this is not where I spend 40+ hours a week. Ford Motor Company is my main mission field and by God's grace He can use me there. Remember what Paul said in Romans 12:1. We are called to be living sacrafices. That means ministry is where you are right now... and tomorrow at noon.

*1 Peter 410 Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.

I do not believe at all that you can only minister at a church, you can minister wherever you are working or studying. My father for example works at a Strawberry farm and really helps minister to the people there, many of whom certiantly need someone to help them out. After my studies i may well be the Sports minister so i wont just be at the church, but maybe at a school as a chaplin, or maybe going around from school to school for my church, while also helping at church. Eventually however i do feel God is guiding me towards full time church ministry, but thats down the track. Its good to hear but that you are strongly involved in another area of business and are ministering to the workforce there:)

I feel God has called me to do a few things, first of all, I feel he has called me to be a writer. I've always been a writer, and I feel that God has blessed me in this endeavor. At this time, my writing has been put on the back burner and I am studying towards something else I feel God has led me to do. That's Early Childhood Education. I feel that God wants me to teach the young people of the world about him and about life. So, it's really awesome to see the way God is working in my life.

I really think that God has called me to work with kids. I am a Child Development major and have worked with kids on a daily basis since I was a kid myself. I am in complete awe that He is allowing me to help kids become the people they will someday be. I feel so lucky!

At the beginning of the year, during a youth group meeting, one of the leaders at my Church had a prophecy or a vision for me. It was that I will preach to youth and he gave me a verse in 2 Timothy which says: 'Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage - with great patience and careful instruction.' He also said to me that he saw me as a Father figure which would instruct the youth.
I kept this calling in the back of my mind knowing that God had a plan for me but I didn't really know how it would come to pass. At the time and up until recently I was wanting to go to University to study Graphic Products. But recently I found out that almost all the courses required me to have an arts course qualification which I didn't have. This was a bit annoying but I was beginning to lose interest in Graphics anyway so it was probably better that I didn't go. Because of not going I am to take a gap year.
A few months ago at college I found out that a guy in my year had left England with his family to go to Nigera to become Missionaries. This really inspired me because here was a guy who was going through the normal route of following the educational path to a job but completely scrapped that idea to serve God with his family. This really hit me hard and, partly because of it, I am going to be doing one year's mission work. God has really provided for me so far. It's kinda scary not knowing what will happen after the one year mission but I'm sure God will provide for me again.

I have personal responses to so many of you! wow. I LOVE that feeling of sharing things in common...
IE:

CATCH22: I am also seeking a career in film/television production and am studying it in school right now. If this is to be my main work for the Lord, I cannot even guess, but just know that there are many Christians out there in the industry that could use your gifts and skills!! Go, go, go. Go be a minister in Hollywood. I have such a strong belief that you can do it.

IZZO: Go Ford! My mother used to work at the World Headquarters in H.R. Props to you for grabbing at the passion I wish I had pursued: automotive design. Living here in the Detroit area... I can't help but ache to conceptualize the vehicles of the future. God bless you in this journey!

SHOUT2THELORD: I considered attending Hillsong, but God has not called me there. One reason was that I live thousands of miles away and am feeling as if my current college (university to y'all) is where He is going to use me to His glory. rock on though! That is a place filled with glory and skill building :)
