Hi Paul!

I logged on while I was drinking coffee at 4:30 a.m. Apparently I drank a lot of coffee, 'cause it was 1:30 p.m. before I logged off and took a shower. Is that some kind of record? Is there a forum for this addiction?

Seriously, this is a wonderful site. I had problems being able to post until a few days after Easter, and my password wasn't recognized last night. But, being new, I had no idea there was a problem until I looked in ANNOUNCEMENTS. Thank you for all your hard work!

But fortunately I was smart enough to marry a computer guy who figured out my siggy must have been changed/hacked. I was able to go to my user CP and delete the information.

I lost money to the hacker and contacted PayPal to get my money back. PayPal have refused my claim because my PayPal account was not hacked and the payment was authorised (unwittingly by me as I thought I was paying CF!). I am going to write to PayPal and get copies of the documentation that they have used to come to the
conclusion that it was authorised despite me telling them that CF was hacked, and hopefully this will shed more light on the individual who has caused all these problems.

I was also told that my custom title had that I was a banned thief in it, although it was the correct one when I came on today and I didn't have to fix it.

Wow.... LTR......I am shocked that that happened to you. I guess it means that the hacker is still out there. Glad that your husband was able to fix thing on your account for you.

I hope and pray that CF locates this hacker and presses charges.

Thanks, Rosey, I was shocked too. A fellowship thread had all my posts removed from it too...just found that out last night. But my posts are fine everywhere else I looked.

I hope CF is fixed totally soon. And I hope no one else is having this kind of issue.

Paypal has also denied my claim, as of today.

I hope we can both get this changed. Maybe it will help that there are now the 2 of us seeking the same thing.

this occurred after the cracking incident though, and did not affect the earlier post in this thread. it also happened on more than a few occasions prior to the recent cracking incident, too.

oh well, thanks for your answer anyway. maybe now that the site has come back up these kinds of "flukes" will stop happening. willing to give it a second chance anyway.

may well be due... to local settings needing REFRESH

It sounds like such 'problems' as have now been mentioned
ARE NOT being reported across the site/ by many members

It might help your ongoing experience of CF
if, you guys run a cleanup of your PC's
and AV scan
This may well help you, if, you are running IE

that the criticisms being levelled at the site, are entirely justifiable

Hi Dave.....thanks for the advice, but I ran my AV scan last night. I also delete cookies every day and scan for spyware. I had a problem last year.....and since am very proactive with my computer.

I am not critizing CF.....I am just frustrated that a site I love to post on that I can't get on.

I would suggest to you that most of us are computer savvy enough to use appropriate AV and anti-malware programs.

I'll also remind you that almost all of us use other websites, including other message boards, where we are not encountering the same problems.

In other words, we aren't all idiots and most members are patiently or with resignation working around the problems. (The log-in problem can be avoided by logging in anywhere but the main page, which seems to be stuck in a loop for many members.)

This suggests that CF itself still has some serious glitches that need looking after. I'm also very sorry to see that some innocent members have inadvertently lost money through Paypal because of CF's problems. Certainly that's the hacker's fault, but CF, IMO, bears some responsibility for not reacting faster and failing to warn members quickly enough.

I agree with you completely on this. It is one thing to lose blessings, posts, cyber pets and reps...... in the outside world.....they don't mean anything........but when a person's money is involved.....I hope that CF is taking a responsible stand and covering the members who paid for site membership.
