I saw to way too many attacks on Donald's wife and even his minor child to take a lot of the left's sanctimonious indignation too seriously. Especially when it's usually seasoned with 'anyone who doesn't go along with us is a total scumbag'.

What ones there that did happen were quickly admonished and no sustained attack existed. (At this point, I have no idea if he is still a minor since I don't care one thing about him.)
The wife, on the other hand, is not some "innocent". She was right there with him in the pre-campaign birtherism. Despite the caim in his published "Valentine to Melania" (actually a fundraising email), she has not been by his side through his recent trevails, but rather has been absent from all of his public appearances (save her mother's funeral) for many months.
