*ignoring the fact that GG supporters had received death threats as well*
Nice straw-man btw.
Is it really a straw-man?
What do you think we should do about those tumblr feminists?

Considering that you literally putting words in my mouth, when I merely point out that its discontinuous to treat Tumblr Feminists as it where the norm akin to treating Fundamental Christians as the norm, then yes it's a straw man.
What do you think we should do about those tumblr feminists?
Who's "We" here? Sorry, I had seen guilt trips before, and I am not falling for it.

If no one truly care, then the events transpire GG wouldn't exist. Since GG exist, then somebody cares. Btw I wouldn't describe people involved in it as "nobody", because there are some quite noticeable famous people involved.
I think it's no one important to the media.

It was really between rape advocates and their targets.

I am going to just throw this out here:
Does anyone here against GG ever go to a GG hub(Such as subreddit KIA, also I do not consider twitter to be a Hub btw.) and talk to them and actually listen to them? Most particularly during the years 2014 when GG is at an all time high?
If so, can you PM me your conversation as the mods here don't like links that contains "nasty" words.

That question isn't a trap you can "fall for" if you don't have malicious intentions.

What do you intend to do about those terrible "tumblr feminists"? How do you intend to "make games journalism great again"?

The GamerGate plan involves intimidation via massive organized harassment campaigns such as operation disrespectful nod [staff edit - link removed for profanity]. GamerGate was an organization so bad that even 4chan kicked them out for violating their site-wide rules against harassment and doxxing [staff edit - link removed for profanity].

GamerGate began as a jealous ex-boyfriend's organized harassment campaign of his ex girlfriend [staff edit - link removed for profanity]. Breitbart grew the movement into an anti-feminism campaign [staff edit - link removed for vulgarity]. The movement scapegoats feminists and harasses them under the pretense of stomping out corruption in journalism (or "draining the swamp"). Even [staff edit - link removed for profanity].

GamerGate was a preview of what we can expect to see come from the alt-right. To quote from the article in the OP: "...Gamergate really only made sense in one way: as an exemplar of what Umberto Eco called “eternal fascism”, a form of extremism he believed could flourish at any point in, in any place – a fascism that would extol traditional values, rally against diversity and cultural critics, believe in the value of action above thought and encourage a distrust of intellectuals or experts – a fascism built on frustration and machismo. The requirement of this formless fascism would – above all else – be to remain in an endless state of conflict, a fight against a foe who must always be portrayed as impossibly strong and laughably weak. This was the methodology of Gamergate, and it now forms the basis of the contemporary far-right movement."

Journalists that are critical of the alt-right and Trump need to be prepared for harassment campaigns and death threats.

I've tried, but it's about as good a use of my time as going to Stormfront to listen to white supremacists. I've been to KIA and 8chan.

GamerGate is a movement that claims to be about the relationship between game journalism and the game industry, but looking at the front page of their KIA subreddit tells a different story.

Here is a sampling of post titles currently on their front page:
  • Tim Allen takes on special snowflake social justice warriors in his latest comedy, makes fun of microaggressions and gender neutral BS.
  • The Guardian blatantly lies about domestic violence statistics, blaming it almost entirely on men.
  • Study accusing people of unconscious racism hits frontpage of r/science, mass removal of comments opposing such study follows.
  • Microsoft creates Tay 2.0 and 8chan has already brought her into their fold.
  • Feminist says she's harassed by alt-right gamers online.
  • Discussion: So what's with all this sudden and rampant journalistic/blogger pandering to Hindu sensibilities? It's second only to the protection of Islam in this matter now
  • HuffPo tries to white guilt Jews
  • Don't ever let anyone tell you racism is a white thing.
  • Sweden celebrates 250 years of freedom of speech - invites Anita Sarkesian to women journalist event.
  • Extreme leftist social justice warriors have finally turned into who they claim to hate.

GamerGate was basically a war between Tumblr Feminists and 4Chan. Pretty much the absolute worst elements of the internet.

No one cared,
That's obviously not true. Lots of people cared passionately, enough so that it became well known beyond the scope of interest to actual gamers.

because everyone involved in GamerGate is a nobody
Wow, that is, besides not true, some fairly famous people got involved, a really messed up attitude. Who are you to be calling other people, real people, "nobody"?

who has far too much time on their hands, and becomes outraged over total nonsense(IE, game reviewers having sex, and video game characters who are too busty).
Congrats for both overstating and understating the case in the self-same sentence. A commentary (e.g. Anita Sarkeesian's) is not necessarily "outrage", but it did provoke outrage and doxxing.

Sorry, but the "if you have nothing to hide..." argument has been made against privacy already and I not going to answer the question as it is clearly being made in bad faith.

Not going to respond to the rest of your post, as some of them is pure PRATT.

But did you talk to them? I am not interested with current front page morningstar as anyone can see that. What I am interested is that you talk to them during the year 2014. I did, you apparently didn't.

Yes, I did. They targeted people I know, stalked them online, and sent them death threats. I had to cut people I knew out of my life because I got tired of the verbal abuse they were sending my way.

Have you gone to Stormfront to have a friendly chat with some white supremacists yet?

Indeed, those uppity women, minorities, and progressives sure got what they deserved, didn't they?

Video Gamers Are Having A Bizarre Debate Over Whether Sending Death Threats To Women Is A Serious Issue
twitterthreatscensored.png
Are you serious?

A random twitter troll called "Death to Brianna"?

Do you think that reflects the mentality of everyone sympathetic or supportive of GG?

Those terrible feminists. Aren't they just the worst people on the internet?

Maybe you didn't care, but you don't work in the game industry. You didn't receive death threats or have friends or co-workers that received death threats.

Have you ever been afraid that someone might murder you because they don't like the work you do or because they disagree with you politically?
This doesn't really justify any threats that came there way (most of which were from anonymous twitter agitators), but the main voices against GG, almost none of them were actually developers. They were all mostly small-time mobile devs, if anything, or 'culture critics', or (a term I've coined) 'ideological developers' where their main motive for getting into video game development was solely as a platform to advertise their political viewpoints.

In any case, there have been no serious threats ever since the inception of GG leveled against anyone against GG. There have been blatantly obvious Twitter troll comments, and anonymous e-mails, and phoned in threats, and all of them have never amounted to anything or been close to anything. The whole thing is a storm in a teacup.

Okay, I'm going to play Tu Quoque, albeit, with a difference.

Here's Graham Linehan, comedian and director, and Leigh Alexander, VG Journalist laughing at a picture of a disabled GG supporter.

Here's Patton Oswalt and some journalists attacking James Rolfe and his wife on Twitter for saying he won't review Ghostbusters. Here's just one of the many hit-pieces against him for having the temerity to say so.

Here's Graham Linehan [staff edit - link removed for vulgarity], again, doxxing a student on Twitter for criticising him.

Here's Brianna Wu trying to get a writer of Ubisoft fired for writing neutrally about GG.

Here's Brad Wardell, the CEO of Stardock being accused of being a sexual harasser [staff edit - link removed for profanity] (this actually extended across Twitter with Zoe Quinn and others throwing all kinds of accusations against him. Pure Scientology behaviour).

Here's Daniel Vavra, the co-founder of Warhorse Studios being called a racist [staff edit - link removed for profanity] for setting a game in medieval Bohemia.

Here's Devin Faraci suggesting that GG supporters should be doxxed [staff edit - link removed for profanity].

Here's Bob Chipman, suggesting that threats against GG supporters are to be expected.

Here's Ben Kuchera, another journalist, trying to get someone fired for supporting GG.

Here's Randi Harper, the creator of the much controversial GG autoblocker, haranguing a neutral party off of Twitter.

Here's Adam Sessler happy with the fact that harassment towards Pro-GG is unreported [staff edit - link removed for profanity].

Here's Rebecca Watson writing a piece about how she thinks its acceptable to doxx the right people.

I could go on... so much of this is in my memory, and I have to dig to find appropriate screencaps and archive links.

What's significant about this list? What's different? These are actual journalists, developers, 'activists' and critics saying these things. They aren't no-name anonymous accounts made 2 days ago. They're real people, putting their disgusting and contemptible opinions out there. Honourable mention goes to Arthur Chu's "it ends tonight" implicit threat towards a GG meetup that actually ended up being interrupted by a bomb threat (also barely reported anywhere).
