Backrooms: Escape Together.

I admit I was too old for Creepypasta, but I found there are a few scares in this game and the atmosphere is genuinely creepy.

The Backroom Game

Freeware Backroom walking simulator. Random procedurally generated hallways. You have to check your watch every 30 seconds or you start going insane and everything goes gradually blurry. More disorienting feeling than creepy.

Master of Chess

This is sort of like Chessmaster, but with EA's Tiger Woods career mode. It simulates a chess playing career, and you purchase computer assistance by completing chess puzzles to earn credits. It also has an optional fast-play mode where the computer ches engine will play most of the game and have the human player playing only a few important moves in the mid-game, a sneaky way to make the game more puzzle-like.

Conquest of Go

Very good software to learn to play Go. It has helped improve my game quite a bit. It has a unique feature: during post-game reviews, it focuses only on your bad movies, and gives you points for guessing the correct move. I just wish it had NVidia CUDA support, as CUDA is alot faster on my graphics card for AI inference than the OpenCL it ships with (but OpenCL works on any hardware). It uses the open source Katago engine, which is the best, but also features the old GnuGo (which is very good at tactics but understands nothing about higher level strategic concepts like influence), and some hybrid settings for beginners.

Played a modded version of Halo 3 that changed up how the Brutes work and generally improved the AI and even added Elites as early as Crow's Nest. Overall great mod with a few minor issues that enhances the overall game.

Unless you really love the Beam Rifle, which ended up being replaced by Reach's Focus Rifle.

I played through The Complex: Found Footage. It can be a relatively short game and has no saves. Considering it is freeware, it's a good game. I like the atmosphere. There are no jump scares, the focus is on the strange and uncanny environments. If you look carefully, occasionally you'll see an inhuman entity peering at you from behind a corner in the distance.

Visually, the game is near-photorealistic, particularly the lighting, it looks almost identical to the computer-generated "found footage" videos on Youtube. The game is also reasonably scalable on modern hardware. With a Geforce 3050 RTX, I am able to get fairly solid framerates of 30 frames per second on high settings, which was adequate for what is basically a walking simulator, though it was pushing my graphics cards near its limits.

I played Zombie Ate my Neighbors and Super Power Rangers emulator on my MacBook Pro. I play it mostly for nostalgic sake. It reminds me of my childhood :D Plus, I love the soundtrack.

Been on a Star Wars binge lately. Republic Commando, OG Battlefront 1 and 2, Jedi Academy, and now I'm playing Movie Duels.

MD is frankly awesome. Rough around the edges, but that's to be expected of a fan mod of twenty two year old game.

I'm currently playing Sonic Adventure DX. And we finally got Kirby: Planet Robobot recently, so I've been playing some of that too! I've now played every main game in the Kirby series! (There are still some spin-offs and remakes I haven't played.)

Now I'm on to replaying System Shock 2, another stellar game.
Oh, cool. I was big into into that for a couple of years back around 2017/18, playing it over almost immediately four or five times on a different difficulty or some self-imposed challenge. ^-^

Thinking about doing another run of Megaman X1 and 4. Easily digestible and fun games.

X1, 3, and 4 were my top three in that series, easily. :)

I even liked 5 and 6 well enough despite most fans seemingly of the mind that 5 was the beginning of the end for Mega Man X, with 6 and 7 being outright awful.
But while I totally agree that X7 is bad (3 out of 10 at best for me), I am actually quite a defender for X6 ... outside of the pretty bad dialogue, that is. ^_^

I only ever watched 6 on Youtube, but I have to say that is has some of my favorite music in the series. They went *hard* in that game.

Playing the classic Oddworld games.

It's funny coming back to these games years later after accepting Jesus. You can definitely tell these games were inspired by the Old Testament. (Especially in Exoddus, where the mudokons complain at Abe not even a day after being rescued from being processed into food)

I recently finished Sniper Elite: Resistance, which was so similar to Sniper Elite 5 (which I also played) that, for most of the game, I was never completely convinced that I wasn't replaying the last one.

I've recently started Visage, which is quite a bit different. I'm really looking forward to South of Midnight, which comes out next week.
