defines a Progressive SDA? Isn't the White prophecies, etc, basically what sets SDA's apart?

Many Adventists do not believe that Ellen White was a prophet or that her writings should be viewed as a "continuing and authoritative source of truth," as the official beliefs state. Many also have problems with other distinctive Adventist doctrines. For the purposes of this forum, a progressive Adventist is one who disagrees with one or more of the 28 Fundamental Beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. This is a very limited definition, but it is simply for the purpose of identifying who should post in the Traditional and Progressive SDA subforums (which are non-debate areas). Bascially, there is a wide spectrum of views within the Adventist Church on many issues. People sometimes use different labels to describe the different groups within the church (historic, traditional, evangelical, progressive, liberal, etc.). Here at CF, we have only two categories, though, so as to not complicate things too much, and both are allowed to debate in the main SDA forum.
