  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

There's a thread in the women's forum where people are explaining the meaning behind their CF username. I thought it would be fun to ask the question here too. Credit to Jazzbird for the idea! :)

My name: Princess Pea is a character in a new book: The Tale of Despereaux, Being the Story of a Mouse, a Princess, some Soup, and a Spool of Thread. Author: Kate DiCamillo. It's really a children's novel, but one of those that adults can enjoy too - at least this adult did!

* runs back over to the women's forum to get my explanation

My real name is Cathy BUT when I bought a domain I decided to call it Caitlin Creations rather than Cathy Creations.
Just sounded better to me. And I made sure mom was okay with it. She was.

So I go by CAITLIN online. And I truly CARE about others.
I just want God's love to show thru me and everything I do.

Well, I always greet people with "Good morning". I've done it for...years now...one of my friend's girlfriends thought it was cute, and gave me the nickname "Mr Morning". The name never really stuck, but I've used it as my online persona since I've started surfing...

It's my hotmail address :)

Ok ok, I'll tell you how I got my hotmail name... well, Horuhe is how you write my name (Jorge) in Japanese and the "00" part is in memory of Rei Ayanami's Eva designation. Did I lose you? :)

Second Timothy, Chapter Two

It was the first whole chapter I ever memorized, and still has special meaning to me. My first choice of user names was taken by someone who has long since stopped posting. I could have put a number with it, but didn't think of that until I had this one. But 2T2 works for me.

KeilCoppes sounds a lot like my name - Keil Coppes. I was named after Keil & Delitzsch, two Lutheran OT commentators who were my father's favorite source when he was teaching bible college. When my mother was carrying me, his students teased that he would name his first son Keil and his second son Delitzsch. I'm the first son and my middle initial is D.... (I got David instead).

Curiously, his first doctorate is in OT and his PhD work was in ancient near eastern languages. Cunneiform was ancient writing made by pushing a triangular tipped stylus into clay and then making lines with it (Babylonians, Akkadians, Ebla, Uggarit, etc.). In German, one of those of those wedge-shaped marks is called... a keil. Cunneiform or wedge writing is called keilschriften..... So it all fits together.

In other places I go by rcfriend = reformed christian friend, but I figured it would make me easier to find if I used KeilCoppes. There aren't that many folks with that name out there.

(princesspea - are you really that delicate? Or do you just have a lot of feather mattresses on your bed? :^) )

:D Naah ... anyone as klutzy as I am who was also delicate never would have survived to adulthood! But I have to say my mattress is sounding pretty appealing right about now ...

Zzzzing is a good thing - my mom at times says her middle name should have been grace.... (of course she says it just after she drops and breaks something and the cry of disappointment has died down. :^) )

I feel accomplished to say that my reaction to hurting myself has now been reduced to.... "ouch". There have been several other versions along the way. Wuhu - they're gone!

So what led you to choose that handle?

A triptych can be a trio of paintings or photos presented as one artistic work or a three-paneled folding tablet used for writing in Ancient Rome.

The R is an R.
You know, that's what I thought it meant...the R.
