What's funny about this thread, is if, like me, you're a name meanings buff.... you can figure out a lot of people's names, even if they only give the meaning.

You could also argue it somes from the patron saint of Paris, St. Denis, that came to the then-called Lutetia in the 3rd century, but i like the first one better

Actually, it is very likely that my parents were most influenced by a certain american comic strip that also appeared in german newspapers...i even got a collection of the strips for one of my first birthdays. I can only say to my parents: Be careful what you wish for
